"The surgeon and staff were great. Just hope you don't get admitted because the hospital, drs, and nursing staff are horrendous. Hands down the absolute worse. They lack people skills and are obviously just there for a paycheck. You'll hardly ever get checked on. Just lousy and should all pick different careers."

"I appreciate the thoroughness of the doctors at Mon Valley Hospital in addressing the medical issue. However, there were concerning experiences with the nursing staff. Despite multiple requests over a 3.5-hour period for a simple IV hookup, it was only resolved after personally approaching the nurses station. The delay, coupled with the staff's demeanor, was disappointing. While one nurse was helpful, the overall service fell short of expectations and I would not visit this hospital again unless I absolutely had to"

"I want to share an incident recently at this hospital. My mother had surgery 1 year ago and has had a number of complications since the surgery. She has had numerous visits over the last year. Almost every interaction I have had with the staff at this hospital has been unprofessional and disrespectful. I’m a nurse and I live in Maryland so I depend on the communication with the medical staff. When my mother first came here a year ago after the surgery she was placed in ICU with pneumonia, and I found this out because I called to see if she received her flowers. I spoke to the nurse to try to explain that I lived 5 hours away and that I would like to be notified of any changes in her condition and she proceeded to complain to me for 5 minutes about how it was my mothers fault that she had pneumonia because she wasn’t getting up and moving around. I know this, I’m a nurse, that being said as a nurse it is absolutely unprofessional to “complain” to a family member! I let this go and over the last year she has been in and out of skilled living. Recently she went in for another procedure and I went to visit her. While there the doctor came in to check her wounds and found that her bowels were leaking into her body coming out of her incision. He called in the aid who proceeded to complain that my mother had “s**t herself” and called the doctor a “d**k”. I cannot express the anger I felt in that moment but also at that moment the most important thing was my mother. I am in the process of filing a complaint but I refuse to be silent and I’m upset with myself that I didn’t say something a year ago. All this being said, my mother is now in the ICU again and her nurse Carol is amazing and has been communicating every step of the way! I am a nurse, I understand we have bad days, but you NEVER take it out on the patient! I’m disgusted!"

"Worst ALL Staff EVER. Have you ever been admitted to a hospital and the Dr told you “YOU OPENED A CAN OF WORMS” by bringing your elderly sweet Mother who is in the end stages of Alzheimer’s to this hospital? THIS IS HOW WE WERE TREATED. No compassion in any molecule in this place. It is still Death Valley, I would die before ever coming here again."

"Absolute worst ER experience ever...first off the nurses and staff were very nice but that could never trump the fact that they wouldn't prioritize a 9 year old that got transported by ambulance due to a motor vehicle accident. My daughter suffered over 6 hours in a neck brace before she got her CT Scan then another 3 hours to get the results. Other hospitals prioritize ambulance visits but not this place. The waiting room was like a party people laughing cussing and having a good time. Like do you people even need to be here. I have no words to describe the lack of patient care when it came to this aspect. Again most the nurses were nice. But this hospital lacks in alot of other areas."
