"I take the 7am HIIT Muay Thai class at Lotus Thai Boxing. It is such a challenging and fun class. I am a beginner and started with zero experience, so it’s great that you don’t need to be advanced at Muay Thai to take this particular class. The morning HIIT classes are seperate from their evening classes though, so you’ll need to check their website to inquire about those classes. Definitely recommend the HIIT Muay Thai class for beginners trying to get into Muay Thai or if you just want to get a good work out in!"

"I have been to multiple gyms in the DMV, Texas, and California, and none have came close to Lotus Thai Boxing. Not only will you get a high intensity workout and be sweating like you never imagined but you will simultaneously learn real Muay Thai. Whether or not you want to step into the ring, this gym will teach you how to fight and defend yourself. In addition, Carlos Lopez (Head Coach / KRU) and coaches will make you laugh with their sense of humor, teach you how to deal with adversity, improve your hygiene, gain self confidence, and acquire proper gym etiquette. The members who attend Lotus are truly a family and will push you to be better and will lift you up when you’re down. You will leave this gym a better person and learn life lessons that you can apply to all other aspects of your life. It is a honor to be accepted to this gym, don’t take it for granted!"

"I started out doing boxing at a UFC gym in Fairfax and it was not the experience i was looking for. I wasn't looking for a place to just hit a bag for an hour i was looking for real combat training. And one of my childhood friends said that he trained at this authentic Muay thai gym. I didn’t even know what Muay thai was at the time and went on youtube to see what it was and i still wasn’t convinced on the style of combat. But he insisted try it out plus you get a week trial, i went on the trial and what i found changed my life. Not only did i find what i consider another family i found a real fighting gym. The amount of technique and fight knowledge you receive from not just Carlos Lopez (head coach/Kru) but the whole gym is crazy!!! The big saying in that gym is you dont have to be a fighter and fight but you will learn how to defend you’re family and friends stuck with me. Not only do i still have the amazing opportunity to train at this amazing school i actually fight for it too."

"Moved back into the DMV area from Atlanta were I'd trained/fought out of Richard Tramell's gym. Who by the way is an Olympic medalist. Seen this gym and thought I'd give it a try. Been a year since my first lost in kickboxing and calf injury so I wanted to come to a place where I can lost weight and start competing again. Made my appointment (cause that's the only way you can come into their gym) and had my first try out yesterday. For the most part the students there were helpful and class in my mind went well minus the quad bruise I'd suffer in a drill. Today I get an email saying they were not going to give me a second trial or even accept a membership from me because I so called cheated when doing burpies (the drill that injured my quad) they claimed I did 8 instead of 10 even though I was going off the number my partner gave me in the drill. The elitest attitude from this gym is mind numbing seeing how no one in this gym has reached the levels of my Sensei Tramell in ATL. I didn't cheat my mind was on my quad cause it hurt like crazy. Something so simple and yet they are going to reject potential money from a customer. Gym is overcrowded and I even turned a blind eye to being told due to my bruised Quad I wasn't allowed to quit and if I did I would not be allowed on the mat. That's wild and dangerous to one's health. Find it funny in this email they scanned the cameras to come up with this when it was something simple that could of been explained. They knew I limped out the class and didn't finish to nurse the bruise. However that's their right and to all my military vets like myself avoid this gym at all cost. Great people but horrible elitest mindset and ego."
