"I have been told by several people that I can be hyper critical. However, the campground itself is not bad just not my personal fancy. So I went up there for a tour which we signed up for at the Hershey RV show We paid 40 bucks, we get there to do the presentation and they put us in a section where they were maybe seven campers. The pull through site was 45 feet long plenty for a 40 foot coach however, it was as unlevel as you could get. Meaning I had to pop a wheelie in the front to get level and I still wasn’t level, it was a weekend and it was free so I didn’t complain but we went and did the tour. Jade who took us around was absolutely amazing, knows her stuff but we ended up saying no and here’s the reasons why 1. For $16,000, and I’m never going to be turned down which is good, the bad is, I’m not ever going to go back on that site again which was site number 248. So if I’m spending $16,000 and I have to pop wheelies with my coach I can go somewhere else because that’s just not gonna happen and in some cases for some people it’s not safe. 2. The pool and clubhouse were cool and for those who like that environment great it’s right at the battlefield, which was great, plenty of food around and the ice cream at the various ice cream shops are amazing. Now here’s the ugly, if you are slightly dyslexic, have ADHD, or any type of anxiety all of it is going to get activated. My agent orange flared up and I wasn’t even in Vietnam. If you come back to this campground after dark and you don’t have a map or you didn’t drop breadcrumbs to come out, you’re never gonna find your site and you’re gonna end up Driving around in circles, because nothing is in straight numeric order. Then we got back to our campsite, but I had to use orienteering from Boy Scouts to do it. He took an army ranger and an Eagle Scout to get back to our site and for that kind of money I need something to be laid out a little bit different and much better. 3. For $16,000 I expect the clubhouse and the general store to be open past five. My issue with that is simple, in the fall and spring. I need to be able to get wood because campfires are needed. If you don’t want to freeze your Nom Noms off. Once again, I had to leave the property to go get wood and drop breadcrumbs to get back. The one thing that I liked was the people. They were people camping from some of everywhere, and in some of everything. I wasn’t the only one that had to do a wheelie, I really felt bad for the people behind my friends, because their whole rear end was off the ground just to get level and this is the type of things that I’m talking about when I say not safe. That gas job coach could have rolled because the only breaks it has on the rear axle. . So his emergency brake was effectively nonexistent, at least my rear was on the ground. In other words, I need to see a better quality campground, not only in Gettysburg, but the other seven or 11 places, however many that they were, and the people that use the membership have all said that Gettysburg is probably one of the best out of the bunch, which means the other ones have a lot to be desired."
"Great location to the battlefields. Private for Travel Resorts of America. Nice and clean park. Tightly packed spots but we were greeted with a small s’mores kit and a bag of firewood. They do have the tour you can take for 90 mins if you’re interested in buying a package, just make sure they know you’re there. We got in around 7:30 the night before and they had us listed as no shows."
"Very clean resort. Plenty to do Staff awesome, laundry site well kept no coins only use card. Hours said til 7pm Columbus day however we pulled in 6pm no guardshack and office closed. Asked for pull thru but didn't get 50amp had to pigtail and site not level"
"We just got here, staying in our RV. We are a ROD member and this is definitely one of the nicest! Right next to the battlefield. Sites are pretty tight, but park is well kept. Pool was Great on a hot muggy day! Separate shower/toilet rooms which was super great and so clean. Nice greeters in the office with lots of information. Thanks!! We just got here, so I may add some remarks soon..."
