Giant Food

"Each time we have shopped there the food is rotted. The meat is brown on the inside and the bread is molded. We purchased little smokies and maggots came out. We purchased new milk that was curdled. The fruit is so old it has flies and decomposes. They are clearly not storing food at proper temperatures and leaving it out. The manager says it’s a one-off each time. We have been inconvenienced each time to have to return the food or to just take it as a loss."

"Simply the worst sustained customer experience I have ever experienced. From the self-checkout attendants being either completely inattentive or focusing more on silly rules vs helping customers, to the crazy self-checkout system requiring constant employee intervention, to the customer service desk (supposedly managers) refusing to answer questions, to the cart guy leaving carts blocking the front entrance, to the poor quality of carts rusty and letting items fall out of the cart, to the delivery/pickup shoppers blocking large swaths of items in every aisle with their carts, to the subpar produce, to the inefficient pharmacy. I will NEVER go back to this place at all, 20 years and now over to Safeway. I laughed when the manager told me they treat everyone the same, I agree everyone gets treated horribly!"

"If you see a short, black lady with short black hair at the self check out, do not interact with her. She will give you the worst customer service, the most disgusting attitude, and treat you less than a human. I went through the self check out and asked for her assistance’s, first she walks away then when she comes back and has a nasty attitude. it’s disgusting and hurtful that someone feels like they can treat you like that when you’ve done nothing to them. If you didn’t like the job, you shouldn’t have accepted the position."

"OK now they have moved the baskets to a worse position, because by putting them on the opposite side of the entrance door, I have to contend with the people leaving the giant to get a basket. This is the best of the 3 Giants that are in my immediate area and it is my go to for shopping. The layout is sensible, produce is fresh and they have an excellent hot bar. The staff are helpful, and I even see them kick people out of self checkout when they bring way more than 20 items in. Also the seafood section doesn't stink bad enough to smell from the entrance like the one down near Oakland Mills. Overall good Giant, please move the baskets away from the Scan-it Kiosk."

"I walked into the grocery store and there was an armed guard/ police at the front door, so immediately I was on guard. After some inquiries I heard that some of the stores in that shopping center were victims of robbery weeks before . So happy that they’re making an effort to protect customers. I found most everything that I needed ,and some were on sale. My only complaint is their produce to me , doesn’t look fresh and the selection isn’t varied as some other stores . Lighting is not the best in that area either."
