"Metal Supermarkets , in general, is a decent place to get small orders of metal. If you need something at stock length, you will be WAY better off getting it from an actual direct-from-mill supplier. However, talking specifically about the Essex location, I had some 1/4" plate steel CNC plasma cut and the quality of the work done was mediocre at best. Either incorrect machine settings (speeds, amperage/voltage, torch height, etc.) , worn out consumables, inexperienced, lazy or swamped operator(s) or combination of these issues, contributed to this shoddy work. I will return to but materials, if needed, but will not be using their CNC plasma services again. I understand plasma cutting will leave some imperfections but the non-concentricity of the circles and rounded edges where there should be a point is a serious issue. There are plenty of examples online that show the great quality you can get with a CNC plasma cutter. If you want if done right and professionally, go somewhere else."
