"My daughter and I went for massages a couple of years ago and had wonderful service! Unfortunately, I can not say the same about a recent visit. My husband bought me a gift certificate for Christmas to the Buhl Mansion Spa and I saved it to use as a special birthday treat. Unfortunately, I misplaced the gift card and was told that they could not honor my husbands receipt with the purchase number. Well, ok, even though I think that they should look into how they can track their gift cards so that people are not out the money if they lose the card, I accepted it and decided to go at my expense. During my visit I was treated with disdain. Throughout my pedicure, I would ask questions to try to engage my technician and I would get cold one word answers. About half way through my manicure, she did warm up and became much more pleasant. When I went to check out, there had been a change in my bill, as I decided to go with a less expensive nail polish. The technician went with me to let them know to change the charge. The person behind the desk did not talk to me at all, took my payment and then we saw ourselves out. To my surprise, the next day I found 2 large charges on my debit card. When I called to find out why there were 2 charges, I was told by the same person who had taken my payment that oh, the original charge had gone through and then they charged me the new, lower fee too. He said that there would be a credit to my card but it may take a couple of days for it to show up on my statement. These charges went on my debit card and nothing was said to me about being double charged! What if I did have enough in the account. I am very disappointed that I was not told to expect an additional charge on my card and that there would be a credit, but that it could take a couple of days. I am still waiting for that credit. For context, I never write negative reviews. This was just unacceptable and I do not feel that I can go back."
