"The worst thing about this place is the school lunch, goddamn are they awful. They look grimey and disgusting, and their attempt at oriental food is an insult to the entirety of Asia. In middle school, I used to categorize cafeteria food in two categories: yummy and bad. In this school, I categorize food in two categories: barely edible and probably-not-food. Fries were tasteless, did not know that unsalted fried cardboard strips can be food. The ham-and-cheese and cheese steak looked like they are made with Satan’s toe jam, and anything relatively oriental looked like vomit. The rice tastes like shredded 80-grit sandpaper (only tried once and it was a grave mistake, just like my birth), and please don’t forget that the chocolate and strawberry milk have high-fructose syrup as a key ingredient. Mistakes that you should not make: -Orange glazed chicken. ORANGE GLAZED, not orange chicken. It literally tastes like oranges and it is the proof that God is dead. -Thinking too hard about the thing that you just picked out of your food. Yes, it is the lunch lady’s hair. No, you won’t die from eating the rest of the food, plus hair is made of protein anyways; just a type of protein your stomach cannot digest (I aced AP Biology). Best Teacher award: goes to Ms. Crawford, our school’s AP Psychology teacher. She is kind, tolerant, patient and understanding (she teaches psychology after all). She makes psychology an enjoyment with her vibrant and engaging teaching style (her class is the only class that I can’t fall asleep in), and she is very, very generous with extra credit (I have over 100% for this quarter). She grades everything on time, she doesn’t yell and throw things like some teachers are, she doesn’t target anybody like some teachers do, she dresses in a elegant and fashionable way (a bonus) and she is just everything that a teacher should be ideally when the concept of teaching was invented. Note that I am not her favorite and I don’t have her as a recommender for colleges, so I am saying this subjectively based on her abilities to teach. Good teachers (honorable mentions): Ms. Rhodeside (Spanish 1-5)– Fun, engaging, nice, easy classes, only downfall is don’t expect to see the paper you handed in today until after a decade. Mr. Rodis (introductory courses for Project Lead the Way)– the only teacher that allowed me to work alone when I was too much of a loser to find a partner; caring, affectionate, passionate about engineering and inspired me to be an engineer. Mr. Krikorian (Principles of Java Programming, Digital Electronics)– very knowledgeable in the second subject but probably knows barely anything about programming (he teaches from a textbook printed before 2010 or something, pretty awful class to be in if you are serious about programming); he is really really good with the electronics stuff and he’s also smart, patient and friendly, truly a figure of great inspiration and influence in my life. Mr. Dubbs (AP Macro/Microeconomics, human geography)– knowledgeable, good teaching style, great at reviewing with students prior to AP test, incredibly helpful. Mr. Meinhart (WHAP)– He likes Charizard. Good. Very good. 10/10 teacher. He smiles a lot. Charizard is one of those rare starter pokemons that’s still meta. Very, very good choice. Plus I have heard the statement that he is unarguably the most handsome teacher at school multiple times from female schoolmates. Good for him. “Good” teachers (easy going, nice to have them): Ms. Patterson (English)– she forgets everything she assigns (I once received full credit for projects that were due two months ago) and she plays a lot of movies.
