"I have been to Total Access Pediatric Urgent Care in the past with my son and it was always an excellent experience. So it saddens me to write this today and share an experience that is not only a reflection of that office but of our world today. I will tell you the only difference between my experience today and when I went in the past, is the fact that now that I am self-employed my insurance is not as good. Unfortunately, the Maryland Health Connection made a mistake with my son's insurance so on their website it says his insurance is active but on the state site it says it does not. Despite my explanation, an insurance card and a very sick child, we were turned away. His temperature was not taken, no questions to insure that he was fit to be turned away, nothing. I am in no way a privileged or entitled person but with all that is going on in the world today, it is profoundly evident that the gap is widening beyond reach between those who are perceived as "having" and those who are perceived as "having not" Even if my son could not have been seen because of this insurance debacle a bit of compassion and caring would have gone a long way in making us feel human and understood."

"We are so grateful that we discovered Total Access. Their staff was friendly and responsive – they answered the phone right away, registration was easy, and once we arrived, we only waited about 15 minutes to be seen. Dr. A. started by saying she would do everything she could to keep our baby out of the hospital and she truly did. She spent a couple of hours (in and out) with us, administering treatments and checking response. We were sent home with a detailed care plan and clear instructions on what to watch for. Dr. A. checked in after we left to ensure we didn’t have any questions, and called in the morning to see how the baby was doing. Dr. A. was thorough, detailed and caring. We will continue to use our pediatrician for regularly scheduled check-ups, but Total Access will be our go-to for any day-of or urgent care needs. We haven’t received our invoice, so can’t speak to billing, but otherwise, cannot imagine a better urgent care experience."
