"Mark came by to give us an estimate on having our hardwood floors refinished. After spending about an hour here and telling us that we had at least a few sandings left in the floors (1870s), he gave us a quote, scheduled a time, and told us to expect a confirmation call the week of. We moved all of our stuff off of the floors, took down pictures, cleaned out closets, etc. and made plans to be away during the work. The day before they were scheduled to start I called them since there had been no confirmation call. I was underwhelmed by the conversation so I wrote a detailed email to Mark about what rooms, how to get in our house, etc. At 9:30am last Thursday, my wife (not me - the person who had been doing all of the communication since we met Mark) received a call from Mark saying that the guys could not do the floors. He asked if we wanted them painted or carpeted instead - unbelievable. This was the day they were supposed to start and we are sitting at the airport trying to process what's going on. I called back and Mark told me that he "didn't get on his hands and knees himself" to see some nails that make the floors "impossible" to do. If he doesn't know what work can or can't be done, he shouldn't be giving the quotes. He was generally surprised that we didn't want to have them put carpet in or have them paint instead. I wanted them out of our house asap. Supposedly my refund was processed today; I haven't seen it yet. Thursday morning would have made more sense than Tuesday, and I think they did it only because I kept calling and emailing. Horrendous waste of time and effort for us with terribly unprofessional outfit. We returned from our trip to an unlivable situation and back to square one after weeks of work/preparation. Do not use. I wish I could give 0 stars."
