"Hello. My name is Tara Odom. I would like to file a grievance against the director of Mountairneer Mental Health in Romney, WV. I recently tried to get into their services for a therapist. When I told the therapist and the director my concerns about their Covid policies and how they chose to not remember my schedule or write it down I got told that I am not adaptable enough for their help. I was immediately dropped before even starting. The director then laughed at me on the phone when asked if she is even allowed to do that. Laughed at me. This does not help me mentally at all as I was just trying to voice my concerns and be transparent and honest. I understand that telehealth is an option but I am not comfortable with this as an option for me and I also do not have a computer to do so and was too embarrassed to even bring that up as a point. The director said "I've been doing this a long time and I can already see this isn't going to work out for us." I then asked about the student that was about to graduate and she said she "replayed our conversation in her head" and promptly decided to not let me use the student either because "I've been doing this a long time and can already tell that by talking to you and replaying our conversation in my head that a student isnt going to work out for us with you." I feel completely humiliated and judged before even given a chance at mental health. This decision made for me does not make me feel that I should trust anyone with my mental health anymore in a professional setting. I only have WV medicaid so my options are very limited as to who I can go see as well as my schedule for only being able to go after my job in the afternoons during the week. I apologized several times on the phone for coming off the way I did or the fact that I was rude. I even begged her not to drop me. But the director said that apologizing doesn't constitute anything and therefore I am being dropped. She then hung up the phone after laughing again. Please help me get a new therapist! I clearly need help at better communicating and voicing any concerns because at this point I am terrified at being honest to anyone if their opinions differ from my own."
