"I will start off by saying that the workmanship of the installer was well done. We had a Chicago brick tile floor installed and it does look good. My issue is regarding the labor pricing. I discussed with the sales manager the labor price before agreeing and the argument provided to justify the price kind of made sense. I was told four people (full days) for a week and it ended up being one installer for 5 days with help (one additional person) on the first and 5th day. They only worked half days for the duration of the project. At the end of the day, I ended paying $120/hr for 32 MH's worth of work. I understand inflation is bad right now but that is not right IMO. Shame on me for not getting the labor requirements to justify the price in writing. The sales manager changed his story a few times to justify the labor price and they never ended up providing the labor they said. The sales manager said to me in an email "I’m curious if you would be ok adding more money to the job if it works have to longer than expected." It's the sales managers job to estimate the work, if it takes longer, than that is on them. As a consumer, I have the right to fact check the work. I actually felt bad for the installer they sent out because he was laying individual tiles after having surgery in his arm and had steel plates and screws installed. He had to stop early each day because his arm was tired. Maybe that help they promised to justify the price would have come in handy for the guy? We had to wait a week to finish because the grout color we initially picked (along with the sales manager) based on the samples didn't work. If you have picked grout colors before it's not an exact science. When I questioned the labor pricing after completion of the project, they brought up the switch in grout color. I have been in construction for a very long time and normally you get a bag, put in a sample to see if you like it, then order the balance to finish the job. Weckers claimed to have ordered everything without knowing if it was going to work, and then tried to counter my labor pricing argument with the grout bags they didn't use. My recommendation if you consider working with Weckers is to get all of the small details in writing before you agree on a final price. Or work with another company all together that has more integrity than this one. After completion of the project and talking with other people in the area, this seems to be a recurring theme with Weckers."
