Merit School of Gunston

"Run away from this place. This school has changed for the worst. Most of the new teachers are rude, unpleasant to the parents and I fear they are the same way with the children there."

"I wanted to give this school zero stars but of course it doesn't allow me to do that. Let me start off by saying every since the director Christine left, this school has went DOWN HILL! The turn over rate is ridiculous, that my children can not keep up with their teacher's names. There is NO communication with the director now which is Hannah the schools old assistant director. I don't know who's doing the hiring process but they are hiring anyone that comes through the door off the streets! These teachers are wearing pink hair, large lashes that are covering their eyes, cheetah print boots, etc. Are these teachers even teaching the the children? My children isn't learning anymore, you might as well call this place the babysitter. A couple parents and myself will be disenrolling our children!! Get a better director that can direct and get some better qualified teachers!!"

"Great school. Our infant excelled here as he grew into a toddler. Each week he would have something new to share with us and his vocabulary grew faster than I could have ever imagined. Sad that we had to switch daycares a while back, but we're on the wait-list now hoping to get back in soon so our newborn can also have the same great experience."

"The Merit School of Gunston is the most amazing, nurturing, and welcoming place you can send your kid(s). Our girls have attended this school since they were three months (now 2 and 1), and every single teacher and staff member has been instrumental in making the girls feel safe and loved. Our experiences have been in the Baby Steps, Toddler Explorer, and Preschool Explorer programs and each teacher developed a special but crucial relationship with our kids (so much so the girls still ask to see their prior teachers in the mornings). Ms. Gladys in Baby Steps is AMAZING. Our girls LOVE her and look forward to seeing her daily. She keeps the girls on schedule, reads books, sings songs, and goes on buggy rides regularly. She is beyond engaged! Ms. Rosa is new to the class and is an extension of the engagement and care for the kids. Ms. Christine and Ms. Hannah (Director and Assistant Director) are welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable about the schools programs and offerings/capabilites. Both are incredibly approachable and I always feel heard when asking questions, addressing concerns, or even just chatting. Every teacher in the school knows the kids and it creates a safe and inviting environment. An insanely big plus is that they provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks to the kids (my oldest LOVES Ms. Selena and will literally drop everything to run and hug her and spend time with her before she heads to her classroom!) I am beyond sad that we are moving but I highly recommend The Merit School of Gunston to anyone in the market for child care!"
