"I miss this school a lot. My son attended this for 1yr, all I can say is that I was proud of those days. We moved to about 20miles away which makes it had to drive during the busy morning traffic. Even though my child currently attends a charter school, it couldn’t match what the learning, discipline, and Bible teaching my son hard during the 1year at IBA. My spouse and I are considering taking him back next year when the other sibling is ready for school. We are coming back!!!"
"We come from a different state and when we started searching for schools in the area we came across independent Baptist we have been with them for 3 months and and I can honestly say it’s an amazing school hands down!!!! We are so happy god put them on our path our two kids have learned so much. The principal and the staff are super kind, friendly, and understanding. We have joined the church as well and we feel right at home every Sunday. Pastor creed is amazing."
"My husband and I visited IBA with my 3 year old son who is not enrolled there. The campus is larger than I thought, clean and organized. The staff was friendly and while we waited to be seen by the principal, everyone made eye contact and greeted us. would have been nice to see the main door to the school secure given my overall concern about gun violence and strangers walking into the building. The principal said they plan to add security to the doors in the near future which is nice. We saw children of various ages walking through and standing in the hallways. They appeared well mannered and followed teachers' directions. Our visit of the classrooms, play area, gym, and theatre/church was nice. The principal showed us the 2-3s and 3-4s classroom. While in the 2-3s classroom, I noticed on the main classroom board, there were their index cards with stickers and the children's names on it. I noticed that some children had 5 stars and a few only had 1. I asked why. He said kids have to meet goals to earn stickers. I thought about kids' self esteem who did not earn more than 1 star and see their peers having more, how would that make them feel. He remarked he gets in his teachers about leaving lights on. In his office, he mostly talked. I had questions and wanted to talk to the teachers. He basically warned us that he doesn't like to be bothered with a parent that wants lots of communication/feedback. He doesn't do "Drama" or want parents to make mountains out of everything (without giving examples). He had "concerns" because my child was high energy. He said he was "on the fence", but said "If I didn't think he was a fit, I'd wrap up this conversation a long time ago! (He denies kids after 1 meeting). His examples of "extreme behavior" was a 2 1/2 yo having occasional meltdowns and a child who was defiant. He said he told 1 parent, you can pay a teacher's full salary if you want her to follow your kid around everywhere. He is the only one who writes and reviews the curriculum. He doesn't want the teachers making decisions on what to teach. His teachers are underpaid (1/2 the pay of public school) and boasted about how his school is the best but doesnt want to charge parents even though he knows they can afford it. He constantly warned that it could not be a fit and he'd rather separate and still be friends. Eventually, my son finally said he was hungry and wanted to go home, he continued to talk and tour. Given this, my son wont be attending IBA."
"If you want your children to be trained in an academically strong and biblically-based environment there is no place else in the area that is as foundationaly strong. I personally know the principal and many of the teachers and I know how much they care for the students that are put under their teaching and guidance!"
"My son has gone to Independent Baptist Academy the past 5 years and is well above his grade level academically! The teachers are great and even despite combined grade classes the groups are much smaller than the public schools. There's a wonderful emphasis on Bible knowledge and grounding the children in things of God! My son loves computer class, music and one of the teacher's teaching sign language this year to the elementary students! Great school!"
