"Me and a friend went on Saturday, December 30, 2023. The dining area was really small. There appeared to be only one waitress but she was making it work. In all honesty I do not know how she did it but God bless her she did. I had the fish and grits and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place. If I go on a Saturday I would probably go when they first open or try a week day. I hope their business continues to grow so that they will need to find a bigger space."

"My husband and I found this gem by accident on our travels home. We thought we would run in for takeout but as soon as we walked in the door we truly felt "at home". Chef Stephanie (owner) met us at the door and from start to finish the service from her and Lisa (served and took care of us) was amazing. Going in with no expectations, the food blew us away. The fish and grits were perfect. The grits for me and my husband were the best we've ever had. Thank you to Stephanie and Lisa for your great service. We can't wait to come back."

"I must say the fish and grits were good, but at 17.95 a plate with no garnish and over a 24 minute wait on a Saturday afternoon with like three tables in the restaurant. I was not impressed. The waitress took her time like we were in another country or Europe. We waited for everything, for sugar sweetener for the watered down iced teas, and hot sauce for the salmon cakes. They were served with absolutely nothing no Fries no garnish nothing. The creamy grits were good the fish was good but the waters didn’t know if it was bass or another kind of fish. It definitely was not Bass, at 47 dollars for a late lunch I found it dissatisfying. The cafe sauce was also sprinkled on the grits as if it were just residue from the recently fried fish they served me. My suggestions are simple. If you’re going to charge that kind of money for brunch make it worth while. Have hot sauce readily available. Create sauces have them ready. Don’t make people wait for simply stuff. It matters in the grand scheme of things. First impressions are hard to come by.. I don’t think I ever come back to this place. By happenstance the Italian restaurant next door was a good place to go to until they started doing similar things and now they are losing patrons as well. This place has potential but the devil is in the details."

"Whoot! I love this place! Just added it to my insider secret places to eat. it’s a breakfast and lunch spot, closing around 2:30p or so. The food is delicious and service is exceptionally friendly. All the food is fresh made, from fresh ingredients. I’ve heard chefs say that the most important ingredient in their food is love. I never experienced that until I tasted Stephanie’s - the owner and head chef - cooking. Kudos to her, her hub and the family and friends who make every guest feel welcome home, which adds an extra special taste to the meal. Heads Up: it is a very small spot and the tables can fill up, especially Sunday after church. So, be prepared that there can be a wait. And if you don’t want to wait plan to return another day."

"Whenever you’re in the Philadelphia area and you want some gourmet soul food, make sure you stop by Welcome Home Cafe. It is a lovely spot in Jenkintown that feels like Sunday dinner at Mama’s house. The fish was light and crispy on top of a flavorful bed of grits. It was so good that I didn’t even have to use any hot sauce! The salmon BLT was amazing and, dare I say, scrumptious! My children absolutely loved the chicken & waffles. Welcome Home Cafe came highly recommended and lived up to all of the hype. It has earned my highest recommendation today."
