Hilton Garden Inn Bethesda Downtown

"Will never return. Save yourself the hassle and book elsewhere. Issues started as soon as we checked in. We were misinformed about parking and our key cards didn’t work at all after check in (elevator or room). Had to check in twice. The hotel staff also charged us for the full stay that was reserved and to be paid by someone else. They never told us we needed additional forms to make this happen.They DID NOT inform us we’d be charged for the room fees, incidentals only. No one will help us with fixing this. Unfortunate this error cannot be easily fixed by the hotel and we were treated poorly like WE did something wrong. Very disheartening as we were in town for a funeral. Construction was everywhere and front staff was rude and would only speak to my husband. Lots of construction on site day and night along with construction workers standing around awkwardly blocking the elevators. Front staff were improperly trained and wouldn’t provide basic information to us. Acted like they didn’t know what’s going on. No wine/bar on site which was annoying after a very long drive and unsatisfactory check in. We received no room service, no fresh towels, waters, nothing. Hallways need vacuuming. Didn’t see a maid in the 2 days we stayed there. Hotel was dirty and unkept. We would have left if we thought we were paying ourselves. Only stayed because my husband’s father booked us and agreed to pay for it. Save yourself the hassle and trouble because they charge your credit card without your permission. Check your bills/statements."

"We loved our stay! Every staff member was nicer than the next, but Santea was the absolute best. The location was great, the hotel was in great shape, and everyone was super lovely to our puppy (who was with us). We were there to visit family that lives nearby, so we’ll definitely be back."

"Thank you very much for comfortable stay. The front lobby staff was helpful and kind especially the gentleman with the avocado pin on his lapel! The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were pleasant and efficient. Next time I'm in town, I'll be staying here again."

"Hotel has a great location but is showing its age. Elevators had some issues and numerous times keys had to be reprogrammed for me and other guess so I presume updates have been lacking and technology is not current. Hotel over all was clean and staff was professional and polite. Simple attention to details matter like remote missing battery cover and mini fridge was not working and had to be replaced on my request. Also had to call and request folio to to me emailed as I never received one as I normally do upon checkout and leaving property. When details like these are missing it makes me wonder what else might be as well."
