"I'm from the South so this place had better hit the mark. I can honestly say that the food is good. I had fried chicken, collards, and Mac n cheese. The only low side of the food is that the collards were a bit too sweet. The service is good and the owner told me she's from Mississippi, so the food is pretty authentic just by that measure. I'll be going back soon to try the fish but probably won't get the greens. BTW, I drive from just outside of DC just to go to this place to get authentic southern food. Hopefully when I go back the food is still good. If it isn't, I'll be coming back to edit my review."
"Place is a whole in the wall. The service was pretty good. It's not what I remembered when it was in Long Reach shopping area. When the couple that started it was running it, chefs kiss. Chicken not bad, fries were meh. The coke slaw side was too small."
"I order trout fish, fries, collard green, chicken wings, corn bread, and sweet tea. The trout was good, collard greens was too sweet, corn bread was a corn muffin, sweet tea was good. Chicken wings was okay not hot. Fries was wedges not fries and look and taste like been reheated in old grease. Ended up throwing food away. Will not be going back again. Food changed since before pandemic. Wasted money. Cashier was very friendly."
"The answer is YES. Yes, you deserve this great food. Yes, you deserve this great service. Yes, you deserve this crispy, crunchy, flavorful experience. Ate here for the first time and enjoyed every minute of it. The food was hot, non-greasy, and perfect! I even got a chance to meet the owner, who was very kind! The cook was amazing as well as the cashier."
"Came here off a recommendation from a friend and wasn't disappointed. The woman who took my order on the phone was very pleasant. I called in my order ahead of time based on some other reviews and was told 20 minutes. Once I arrived I was greeted and only waited a few minutes for my food so no complaints there. Everything was hot and tasted fresh. Pictured below is the 8 piece whole wings, chicken tenders with fries and whiting fish. The chicken and fish were seasoned well and cooked just right (done, but not over cooked). The food was delicious. I will say though it is costly. I didn't order the dinners, which come with two sides, because for the price it's just not enough food. But I was happy with my food and when I'm in need of some good fried whiting...or fried chicken I know where to go."
