Aberdeen Family Dentistry: Asia S. Houston, DDS

"I usually have a good experience at this dental office (now under new owner and called Aberdeen Family Dental). The office is easy to locate and parking is readily available in the back. The staff is wonderful and professional. Dr. Houston isn't what I would call nice BUT she is very professional. For those that the following may concern: I will say that if you experince high anxiety or sensory issues, you may want to really talk to Dr. Houston about whether or not it is appropriate for you to become a patient. For myself, I made note that I do have high anxiety and I typically do not do well with dentists because of past experiences. I also made sure to annotate that in my records. Today, I left in tears and feeling like horrible because I knew that she was annoyed with me and how often we had to stop during a filling. After a while, I could tell by her demeanor and short, jerky movements that she wanted to hurry and finish. I will say that when I apologized for being such an annoyance (I was being 100% sincere because I was fustrated with myself), she did tell me that I wasn't an annoyance, just difficult. Although she said it dismissively, I did appreciate her taking the time to say that. Again, I typically have a good experience but I have noticed that she does not respond well to patients that, unfortunately, are a bit more difficult than the usual. All in all, this IS a great dental office and I recommend it to my friends. IF you do have high anxiety or sensory issues, I would recommend either looking for someone that knows how to handle that or have a face to face conversation with Dr. Houston."

"The dentist literally cancelled appointment two days before my appointment then they told me I would have to wait another month after I waited a month just for that appointment. Extremely unprofessional and unreliable I don’t recommend wasting your time here."

"After Dr. McGlothlins retirement i was very anxious about being treated by the new dentist Dr. Asia Houston. Im scared of the dentist so any change makes very nervous. I did not need to be. She is so gentle and caring. She came in on a Friday evening bc i had a dental emergency. I will forever be grateful to her!!"

"My family used this office for our son's dental work about one year ago. He was 5 years old at the time. We have since then had to have all of the work they completed re-done. When he first started to experience pain we called to explain. I spoke with Dr. McGlothlin to explain his situation and she just went on and on about how it was his fault. She showed absolutely No concern. This has been the worst experience for my son and family. This practice may not be the best for young children. I would hate for another little one to have to go through this experience."

The procedures are thoroughly explained as well as the cost of services. This is an independently owned dental practice and you never feel like you are "just a number" - unlike other dental clinics.
