"Horrible experience. Staff has no customer service or respect for patients. I went to address a single issue - a cavity that I think needs a root canal. On my first visit, I was rushed through multiple sets of x-rays. When I finally saw the dentist, she could not find my cavity and kept complaining about the tartar buildup on my molars as if it was my fault. I thought I was going to have a cleaning on my initial visit, but apparently not. I was told that "maybe" the endodontist would be able to find the tooth causing the issue. I made an appointment to see him two days later, and the treatment plan I received was over $2,000 not including a crown. The root canal itself was listed as not being covered by insurance at all, which is not correct according to my insurance plan. I went ahead and kept the appt, and was told to arrive early for a cleaning. When I arrived for the second appt, the endodontist was running very behind schedule. After waiting for an hour in the waiting room, I asked when I would be able to be seen as I had specifically been instructed to arrive early for a cleaning, and it still took some time before I was taken back. When I finally saw the hygenist, she and another employee began having a private conversation about the endodontist in front of me, saying that it was his first day and he did not bring any dental tools with him (major red flag). When the hygenist finally addressed me, she immediately began berating the state of my teeth, aggressively pointing to the x-rays, and then very painfully began poking my gums to measure my teeth. She told me it wouldn't be painful if I had gotten a cleaning more recently. She said I could not have a regular cleaning and would have to be scheduled for a special deep cleaning "if she had time on her schedule." I was told the process would be to agree to another treatment plan and then go sit in the waiting room again. I WAS scheduled for this cleaning - I was recommended to do the cleaning before I saw the endodontist. After trying to explain this to them, they continued to argue with me. I got up and said I did not want to continue treatment at this office and left. I was so sick of the disrespect and blatant disregard for patients. After reading other reviews, I'm glad I did. However, I have been waiting two weeks to get my dental problem addressed and I wasted my time as my issue worsens. I could have already been done with everything had I been to a legit dentist. Never had this bad of an experience with any doctor."

"I made a same day appointment to have a filling replaced that fell out. I was in no pain. The front office staff were very nice and friendly. However the dentist and the hygienist were not rude but I felt as though I was a nuisance to them. The dentist said I needed a root canal on the tooth. I explained that it doesn't hurt and that I just needed the filling replaced. She then told me that the hygienist needed to look at my teeth. Hygienist then did her checking and calculations. I was the ushered into a waiting room to speak with the manager????. After another 20 min or so of waiting. This lovely young lady told me it would run right around $5000.00!!!!!!! But just to do the filling I would need to deplaque that quadrant and then do the filling. And just that, after my insurance, I needed to pay $249.00. I did not feel that this dentist wanted to help me at all. They just wanted to se what they could get away with charging and billing. Perhaps their work is good but I will never know. I will not go back to that type of treatment or environment."

"The people at this location were and are awesome. I was very nervous for some reason. Besides the fact that this was my very first official dentist visit at 43 I had anxiety. The atmosphere is calm, warm, and inviting. They treated me with TLC and respect. They were very patient with me and responded to my nerves professionally without being cold. I was tripping and they were right with me being as kind as a loved one. I’m very happy I chose Aspen on Merritt Blvd. so much I’m mad I couldn’t get my nerves under control. Excited and comfortable to bring my child up in there. Honestly my oral health thanks Aspen Dental."

"I am a organ transplant patient, and the ENTIRE staff showed concern, cleanliness, and kindness. I need a lot of work done on my teeth and feel so very blessed to be having this work done at Aspen. The bedside manner of my dentist was absolutely spectacular. Beautiful experience and HIGHLY recommend this office to family and friends! I look forward to seeing my smile again."

"BE HONEST!!!! On December 11, 2023, at approximately 5:30 PM I walked into The Aspen Dental office located on Merritt Boulevard in Dundalk Maryland. I was greeted by the receptionist. At this time I asked if the establishment took my insurance at which time I presented my insurance card to the woman. She proceeded to tell me that my insurance was accepted and promptly set up my appointment. On December 13, 2023, I reported as scheduled for my appointment. I was greeted by the same woman, at this time she proceeded to check me in with general basic health questions. I was called from the waiting room and brought back to the X-ray area by the Dental Assistant, She was very pleasant as she asked me when the last time I had dental X-rays taken. I jokingly said it was over a year so I'm sure my insurance will cover it. She replied Oh don't worry about that your first assessment is free at Aspen. I was then brought back to an examination room where I was met by a very friendly dentist and examined, she was followed by the dental hygienist also very pleasant. After a brief conversation, the Hygienist advised me that before any work was done they would refer me to a periodontist. I was then escorted to a separate waiting area to wait for my referral. Finally, I was led to a woman who would hand me my referral, at this time this woman advised me that the facility does not accept my insurance. I began to question this and the woman became very short with me. She stated that she tried contacting me several times via phone and text message to advise me of this. When I replied I had no missed calls or messages from Aspen her arrogance began to glow. Stating they attempted to contact me was a blatant lie, furthermore, if they knew the night before that my insurance did not cover this visit why was that not the first thing they said to me when I arrived for my appointment? Instead, they led me through an X-ray, a dentist, and a Hygienist examination before charging me well over $200.00. This business practice was calculated and deliberate. I find this facility to be highly unethical and suspect at best. At NO TIME during this visit did anyone discuss my insurance plan until after they purposely ran up the bill. Had the company been honest on the front end I would have taken my dental care elsewhere, I will be sure to advise the Better Business Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce of these practices as well. My review will not lack the honesty that the facility did."
