"This place use to be such a great spot but oof has it fallen off in the recent years. I’ll start with the small but overpriced drinks. While good, the amount you get for $14 is pitiful. The smoky mango was only about 5 sips of liquid. We showed up after a day at the tattoo convention and the place was busy but not super packed. We got sat, waters delivered, and then our server vanished for at least 15 minutes. I don’t know if it was this guy’s first day but just watching him he seemed extremely confused, lost, and terrified to be working there. Finally our drinks and food orders were placed and it took forever for the drinks to come out. The food slowly followed. Then a 5 top got sat and our server forgot all about us to appeal to the larger tables. My second drink and my sushi platter never showed up. When we informed the server he just apologized a million times. Took the missing items off the check but did absolutely nothing to fix the situation; didn’t comp a drink or appetizer, didn’t explain what had caused the food/drink to not show up, nothing. Super unprofessional. I hate to sound a Karen but when going out to eat at a place with a certain price point I expect a decent level of service. There wasn’t even a manager around to inform them of the problem. As only one customer this place isn’t hurting for my money but I won’t be back unless they invest in some server training."

"SUPER FAST. I ordered thru Ubereats to my hotel and it arrived in 20 minutes. I ordered the alaska roll, spicy tuna & the yellowtail. It’s super good and the rice has lots of flavor. I ate one of the rolls before I managed to take a picture… couldn’t resist."

"Food was not as good as I remembered when I visited in 2019. Things were also 50%-100% more expensive. The chicken skewers were acceptable but the beef and lamb were tough and unappetizing, so much so that I did not even finish them. Salmon skewers and takoyakj were ok. Would not recommend and would not return."

"Decided to try this place during our visit for a bite before a show. This place was hard to find. The building was not labeled well. It was a lot smaller than I expected. We were quickly seated within a few minutes. We did have reservations. Waitress was the absolute best! She was super attentive and checked on us a lot. Each dish was brought pretty quick. We ordered: - The chicken wings which were fried crunchy and seasoned good. We enjoyed them. - We also ordered meatball kabobs which were ok. - About the steak and chicken kabobs - I typically like my meat cooked or grilled a little longer. The steak was ok but when I bit into the chicken, I had to remove it from my mouth and I asked them to take the chicken back to cook the chicken a little longer. She did. It was much better cooked a bit longer. - bacon wrapped quail eggs were like hard boiled eggs wrapped in bacon. Husband enjoyed them. -Spicy chicken noodle bowl my daughter ordered was flavorful with the veggies being more spicy but not unbearable. She liked her dish. - Chicken rice and broccoli was good. -The spring rolls come in 2s were small but tasty. - the fried dumplings were tasty -The crème brûlée vanilla cake was good. Bar on the first floor. Street parking. We were a little disappointed that we did not have time in our schedule to to try the karaoke offered here upstairs."

"My first time going to Yakitori Boy won't be the last. I made a reservation for 2 at 8:15pm on Friday. We arrived an hour early and were seated promptly - it wasn't very busy. The decor inside was a little old. It has a rustic, Japanese feel to it. The menu is viewed through a QR code and drink orders are taken quickly. The food ... oh my gosh - the food was so good! We ordered miso soup, sweet potato tempura, unagi nigiri, kani nigiri, salmon scallion skewer, bacon quail egg skewer, pork belly skewer, eggplant skewer, ribeye skewer, chicken karaage, and grilled squid. Everything but the squid (tough & chewy, not served with tentacles) was just phenomenal! In my experience, many Japanese places that don't specialize in sushi have so-so sushi. It wasn't the case here. The rice was fluffy & light. The fish-to-rice ratio was very healthy as well. Miso soup was rich and delicious. The scallions were fresh. There wasn't any seaweed at the bottom like most places have. Of the skewers, the most notable to me were the bacon wrapped quail eggs & salmon scallion. The salmon had a very thin layer of crispy skin; I've never eaten the skin on a fish before and it was so much tastier than I expected with a wonderful texture. The quail eggs were soft boiled. Really, it was quite a delicious meal. If I ordered a reasonable portion rather than a veritable smorgasbord with three cocktails, I assume the bill would be well under $100. Being located in Chinatown means there's no parking, but I'd happily walk three blocks for another quail skewer."
