"Fun! For 10 bucks you can swim in the indoor pool and use the steam and sauna. Great for a chilly winter weekend. Place is a bit worn around the edges, but it's a great value."
"I enjoy going to this pool because if you go in the morning, you can be guaranteed to have a lane. The water is the right temperature for hard swimming work outs which makes the swim enjoyable and not uncomfortable. Lisa is also 1 of the life guards who is very helpful with information when needed. If she doesn't know the answer to your question, she will find an answer for you. The membership fees are reasonable. I paid cash for my membership. I used to use a payment service as health benefit by UPMC which i can not remember what the name is, but I don't use this anymore because the plan underpays Mary. So, i paid for year membership so Mary is paid the full amount for her services. I strongly recommend using this pool!!"
"Love this place! Mary, the owner is the best! The pool is ALWAYS immaculate. It's a great space for a cold day but their outdoor pool is also great!! Fair prices--Highly recommend."
"I visited this pool the other day for the first time. They do not have a website but, the featured questiions and answers somehow. Maybe through Yelp? Reading the Question and Answer I ascertained that it was only $5 for admission and a monthly membership was $40. So, I go in and asked an employee where do I pay, he said he could take care of it. He said it was $10, which was fine with me as I thought $5 was much too low with the cost of everything going up. I paid him and asked him how to get to the outside pool. He said, no, only member can swim in the outdoor pool. The $10 was for the inside pool. Okay, I asked how much is a monthly membership? He said $60. Okay, I said, and gave him my debit card to charge the additional $50 to obtain a membership. They charged my card $52. I can only think that there was a $2 transaction fee. This was fine for me. THEN, while I was laying on a chair by the pool, one of the employees came up to me and said there was an problem with my membership and I had to go inside and address it. I was there a total of one hour. The Owner, Mary, didn't really say much to me. She made her employee deal with this very uncomfortable situation. When I went into the building to find out what the problem was, I walked through an open door. While I was talking with her employee she was circling the inside pool like a caged aniamal. It was BIZARRE! She had yelled at the employee that sold me my membership and told him that the no longer offered monthly memberships. She wanted me to pay $240 for the rest of the season! Which is absolutely ridicules! There is only 40 days left until the pool closes, and who knows how many days it will rain in those 40 days. So, I was kicked out. I asked for a credit on my debit card as they JUST CHARGED me $52. Mary said as she was circling the pool, "I don't know how to do it, she will have to deal with her bank! THEN, when I tried to leave through the same door I came in, she had apparently bungie corded the door shut!! I had to ask her employee how do I get out of here? He guided me though some rooms and finally I found a door that lead to the outside. It was a little scary, being locked in like that."
"We moved to Penn Hills and decided to join the club because they have an outdoor pool and an indoor pool, and we thought it’s the only heated indoor year-round pool near us and we wanted to swim during winter. $55/month in the summer is definitely worth it. You get two pools, a gym, sauna and steam room. I joined for the winter but the price is just not worth it. There’s a gym that’s actually pretty decent. The bathroom and fitting/lockers rooms could use some work. Showers are rinse off only, no curtains. The office area is sooo cluttered and there’s always food everywhere and there is no bell to ring if you have questions and there’s rarely anyone at the desk. You just sign in whenever you get there at the desk on your own. Hopefully you don’t have any questions. The sauna and steam room is pretty nice to have. My boyfriend uses it very often. We went every other day during the summer to swim laps because the outside pool is amazing! It’s huge and there’s plenty of places to lounge. They have tons of floaties and big pool toys which is really great. You can bring food and drinks and make a day of it. The only negative about the outside pool is there are no outside bathrooms/changing rooms so you do have to walk quite a bit if you need to use the bathroom. An outdoor facility would be really nice! After they closed the outdoor pool in September we were not aware that the swim team uses the indoor pool for two hours a night for training, and there are local classes in the a.m. It really was not explained well when we bought the membership. The indoor pool is also much smaller and only 3-4 people can swim laps at a time if you’re lucky. When you buy the membership they tell you the hours they’re open but not the hours the pool is closed for morning/night classes during the winter. It kinda became hard to make it work in our schedule to swim once October started. The indoor pool we noticed is very rusted and does need a lot of work. There’s also quite a few cats that come and go so you may walk around pet bowls and beds. We will consider joining next summer for the outdoor pool, but we found a closer indoor pool for the winter that is cleaner, open longer and half the price."
