"We got a membership recently to keep young kids (2-5 years old) active during the winter. Unfortunately they don’t have facilities to accommodate something like that as I’ve seen at other YMCAs in the North East. The full gym area was used by other members playing pickup basketball without the separator down so it felt dangerous to bring small children. No indoor jungle gym for young kids and run, play, climb, etc. No kids sized balls/equipment for use and no indoor spray park in the pool area."
"The Baierl YMCA has terrific classes… and instructors. Try out the stretch yoga, and body pump classes! The Director, Tori is very helpful and responsive with questions and concerns."
"Are you thinking of joining this Y? Please allow me to talk you out of it. We signed up for a class that didn't have enough participants, so they cancelled the class without informing us. But that's ok, because the person at the desk wrote on the back of a business card that we got 10% off the next class we signed up for. Would you like to guess what happened to the next class, too?? Want to cancel your membership? Surely you can do it online or over the phone? NOPE! You have to go in person and sign a form, because it's 1977 and that's how we do things. And you'd better give 15 days notice before they bill you for next month, because the technology just isn't there yet for such a wacky and uncommon request as "cancelling your membership.""
"This YMCA is the best in the area, mainly because it has a rock wall and outdoor pool. I love that the wall is accessible to all members regardless of age or ability. And the outdoor pool is always a family favorite. The facilities are clean and the Staff are friendly. A great place to workout and bring the family."
"This branch of the YMCA is fantastic. The staff is incredibly nice and willing to go out of their way to make sure members enjoy their visit. They have a large indoor pool and a nice out door pool. The exercise floor has the latest equipment. Large variety of exercise classes avaliable. Many special events for families. They also run a specialty camp in the Sumner. Well worth the membership."
