About the Business
The DC Volunteer Lawyers Project is a non-profit organization located in Washington, DC, dedicated to advocating for domestic violence victims, at-risk children, and other vulnerable individuals through pro bono legal services. We believe that everyone has the right to live free from violence and abuse.
Our team of volunteer attorneys handle emergency protection order, custody, and immigration cases on behalf of victims, as well as serve as court-appointed advocates for children in dangerous circumstances. We also provide free walk-in clinics throughout the District, offering legal advice, social services referrals, crisis support, and safety planning for victims and other residents in need.
We are committed to empowering victims with knowledge, resources, and ongoing support, and strive to broaden our impact by engaging, training, and supporting a diverse network of volunteer lawyers and community volunteers.
