About the Business

Neighborhood Legal Services

Neighborhood Legal Services, located at 500 Market Street in Beaver, Pennsylvania, is a vital institution providing civil legal aid to those in need in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence Counties. Since its founding in 1966, NLS has helped over 1.2 million low-income individuals secure justice and resolve legal issues. The institution offers various levels of service, including representation, legal advice, and referrals to resources. However, due to limited funding, NLS can only assist a fraction of those in need. Financial assistance and volunteer support are crucial in bridging the justice gap in the community. NLS provides legal aid through programs targeting issues such as health, women's economic distress, disabilities, homelessness, victimization, veterans, and the elderly. Testimonials from clients highlight the significant impact NLS has had in their lives, from recognizing abuse to securing benefits and housing stability. Consider supporting NLS in their mission to promote fairness in the civil justice system for all individuals, regardless of their financial situation.

"Poor service. Spoke with Barb and she was giving answers that didn't make sense, like she wasn't even truly listening at all. Then she referred to me a service that wasn't even in the right county."

"They 'helped' me get my pfa. Pfa was violated, police were notified and didn't do anything. I called this place to ask what I'm supposed to do. I literally have no clue what I'm doing. They have never called me back. And I spoke to someone there and was told I'd get a call back later that day. That was almost 2 weeks ago. Literally what is the point in a pfa."
