"I went in to buy 4 used tires. The guy I talked with told me he could do $65 a tire, I said deal. He then told me he needed to go get them from his buddy across the street because he didn’t have my size tire in stock…. okayyyy… (I drive a Honda accord btw). Anyway, I go to pay and he says I need to pay with cash, I go get cash, return, and pay him the $280 and $20 as tip. He told me it would be about an hour and he would call me. 3 or 4 hours later I had not gotten a call so I ring the shop. He tells me that he could not find my size tires and that he could get me new ones for $500 total. I respectfully decline, who knows how “new” these other tires really were. I go back to get my money, he gives me $280 and keeps my $20 in tip. I ask him politely for my tip back because he did nothing, and then he lies and tells me he took all my tires off and put them back on for me. Do I look like a clown to you? At no point did he take my tires off. I demand my $20 and leave. Place is sketch."

"Their wheel alignment is not done by a machine. They did it manually and by eye, and very fast and I am not sure their manual technique worked in the end. They were nice though and I could have known better and opted out before signing up for this experiment."

"I want to start this off by saying that I had an excellent experience here last year, when I blew a tire on Rock Creek Parkway and a tow truck dropped me off for a quick replacement. It was $80 or so for a new tire and the whole thing took maybe half an hour. I live in the neighborhood, so a few weeks ago I got a flyer on my car door offering discounts, oil changes, etc. They are clearly doing a marketing push. I need new tires and an oil change and I thought it would be perfect to take the car just a block away. I called Monday morning, explained what I was hoping for and asked if there was a good day this week to get it done. The man on the phone said to drop by whenever. When I showed up, I told the mechanic what I was there for and he quickly told me they had no Honda Civic tires in stock (which is strange, it being one of the most common cars on the road). He said "maybe tomorrow." So I went back out to the car. Then someone else stopped me and asked for a minute to make a phone call. He said he could have tires delivered by 5 pm. Okay, I said, and the oil change? Sure, after 5. He said I needed to pay for the tires before I left, so I asked -- which tires? He looked at me like I had three heads. "I will get you good tires," he said. When I asked, again, which tires, he asked me which tires I wanted. Suffice it to say, if you come here, there is no list of tires to choose from. At this point I was just done. If you want people to come here for regular maintenance, you have to have staff who can communicate with customers and you can't just tell people to show up and then not be prepared to work on their cars. This is a great place to come in an emergency, but their attempt to become a full-service mechanic is just not ready for primetime."

On my last visit, I was helped by Max. This man even checked out all of my tires to ensure I had enough air to go on.
