About the Business
GORC Park, also known as Francis Station Park, is a popular recreational facility located at 940 Strawberry Lake Way in Odenton, Maryland. Visitors are reminded to obey the “NO PARKING” signs along Strawberry Lake Way and to utilize the designated parking lots for practice and game parking. The old tennis court has been converted into an additional parking area to accommodate visitors.
To reach GORC Park, visitors can take various routes including Rt. 3, Rt. 32, Rt. 170, and Rt. 97, following specific directions to ensure a smooth arrival at the park. Please follow the instructions provided to avoid any parking issues and ensure a pleasant visit to the park.
Please note that GORC Park will be closed for renovation from November 1, 2021, until Fall 2022. The renovation project, costing approximately $5 million, will bring exciting improvements such as a new playground, expanded parking, renovated sports fields, a replacement basketball court, a new picnic pavilion, sports field lighting, a concessions/toilet/storage building, ADA-compliant access, and connection to public utilities.

"Amazing renovation to the playground area but why the heck are all the swings so short- as in the top of three swings are 6” above my head so the swings travel a very short distance. Literally the swings travel about 5 feet forwards and back because the chains are like 4 feet long. This makes for a very short and jerky motion. What happened to the good swings that were maybe 20 feet tall that had huge swing distance? These were much more fun and enjoyable. Seriously the swings are a disappointment but the rest of the playground is amazing."

"I went there to watch fireworks / parking was crazy cars all over / lines for vendors were very long ( consider more vendors or space out drinks/ ice cream in multiple locations) . Was a rainy start to evening , glad to see everyone still came out to celebrate"
"Dirty, disgusting and neglected. Brought my daughter to walk and spend time outside what we found was disturbing. Not sure who's running this place but get it together."
"What a large area! Fields galore and a ton of walking paths and trails. I hit it up around 7AM this morning and it was early enough to still have some space to myself. Took my dogs there to walk and play. With the large extra fields I had room to throw a ball and let them run out all their energy. Can’t wait to go again. The location is terrific and it’s extremly easy to access. Everyone there was super friendly!"
