"This program is absolutely horrible. If you want to actually learn a language, stay as far away to MIL as possible. My experience taking this course was so terrible. I learned practically nothing from this. The course is terribly designed, outdated, and unhelpful in every way possible. Learning Chinese through this program was horrendous. It would often show you parts of the language, then never show it again, but then test you on that unreviewed material. There are so many more problems than this that I could list out, but that would take way too much of both my own time and whoever’s reading this time. In summary, this course fails you, you don’t fail it. Do not take this. If you are a school deciding on an online language corse to give to your students, do not give them this one. They will all fail."

"I have studied French online for three years at the time of writing through various vendors. These guys are the worst. The audio is absurdly fast, many of the linked sites are dead or changed dramatically, and the exercises are bland and repetitive. There couldn't be a worse software for teaching languages."

"Had Middlebury online for my classes, it's boring and I didn't bother doing it at all. The activities are too easy, the words are color coded so that it's easy to guess which words go where for the matching mini-"games". For example, for that one matching activity, the blue colored words will always go to the top left corner, making it easier to just place the words there than learn it. Overall, a 1 star is far too kind to give, wish it could be a 0 star, a 0.5 is ok for their efforts."

"I took French II through Middlebury Interactive my sophomore year in high school. Just finished my course today. Overall, my experience was beyond terrible. As others have mentioned, some of the recordings in the listening and speaking parts are too fast and barely decipherable. Plus the website is very outdated and does not save your progress if you're completing a test and accidentally close tabs. It's even worse when you don't have a full year of French I and then criticized whenever you use vocabulary or grammar that was not introduced. Fortunately my teacher had some idea of my struggles and was willing to help. However since I only had one semester to complete the entire course I was required to do twice the amount of work and her office hours were disagreeable. I would never recommend this program to anyone, especially if you're excited about learning a new language. If anything you'll be extremely disappointed and stressed. Fortunately I was not required to pay as this program was offered through my school. However for those of you who are new to learning a foreign language then spend some extra time and money on a reliable program like Rosetta Stone, not this garbage. This program deserves 0 stars."

"To be honest I don't like this website. Most of the time on speaking labs the speaker talks to fast. It wouldn't be that bad if they gave you a slow version, and also a version for how it should sound normally. But they don't. They also teach a lot about how the whole language works. This isn't bad but I would like to learn more about how to have a normal conversation with someone. And not to mention the pace in which they make you move at is stupidly fast to the point you see something once and never see it again. I am taking this class for my sophomore and junior year in high school. I hope that your Spanish class will choose something different than this program."
