506 On The River Inn Woodstock, VT

"We stayed for two nights in September and it was really amazing! The rooms and decor were very comfortable, the game room a nice touch if it rains. Breakfast was fabulous, the ladies are so helpful and the buffet has everything you would want. Dinner was very good, although they "ran out" of items we wanted to order. The dining room is so cozy and warm. Only complaint is the front desk staff, when we checked in, checked out, and any questions we had during our stay they acted very bothered and aloof, NOT WELCOMING at all! Too bad since everything else was very good. To me a friendly face saying "welcome, Mr & Mrs abc, glad you are staying with us, etc. goes a long way. The staff they had at the desk should be in back folding napkins not greeting people."

"This may be one of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced. It has incredible decor. I could spend hours just walking around and looking at all the beautiful items on display throughout the hotel. We asked for a quiet room, and we got it. Didn’t hear a sound. The bed was so comfortable, and the bathroom is lovely! The breakfast was wonderful, and the staff even offered to get us some to go. The grounds are immaculate, and the river is peaceful. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay here longer."

"Absolutely loved staying here - beautiful room and tasteful but cozy decor everywhere (plus amazingly comfy bed)! As is the case everywhere (Europe too) there are staff shortages but the staff we came across were excellent. The bistro is just beautiful and the food fabulous (lovely breakfast included). Our waiter, Ryan, was attentive, professional and pleasant, great service. We also loved that Chef came out to check-in with everyone about the food. I will remember this place fondly when I return to the UK…. wish I could stay longer!"

"This is a beautiful inn and absolutely gorgeous restaurant and beautiful bar. We had anticipated a lovely dinner. The restaurant and dinner was wonderful. Our server, Ryan, was inattentive, dissmissive, and unconcerned. my husband and i love trying new places and having new experiences...Wonderful establishment. .Unfortunately, poor service with Ryan"

"We stayed in the farm house with some friends while lodging at 506. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Hot water took a bit to get going for showers in the morning but eventually it will get hot. The breakfast was delicious and the staff extremely helpful and kind. The location of 506 is great and allowed us many activities over our stay. They provide a big lawn area with outdoor games for kids and grownups too. Bonfire pit at night with smore makings available if you need a late treat. We had an awesome time!"
