"Dan was really easy to work with. He fixed my stainless steel muffler on a Saturday and we both missed a hairline crack that was very hard to see. "A first-rate place to learn how to weld --- a training location co-located with a working metal fabrication operation. Students range from high-school age to retirees. Learning is programmatic, yet self-paced and covers stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW and FCAW), and TIG (GTAW) on steel, aluminum and stainless steel in all positions. Instruction is from AWS-certified welders and welding inspectors with 25+ years of professional welding experience -- and they are gifted instructors, as well. Students work on real-life problems and projects using the same types of equipment found in industrial and artistic environments. I've been exceedingly happy with the quality and pace of instruction. It's not easy and it's very serious business, but it's fun. Owner Dan Guillou has a remarkable skill in dealing with students/trainees of all abilities and ages. If you can be safe in the shop environment, you can learn the skills. If you can demonstrate the skills, you can pass the AWS certification test(s). It's a welcoming, safe place to learn. A student recently passed a welding certification test, and everyone in the shop was rooting for him to pass (he did).
