After a two month wait I called Stearns and spoke with Samantha and was able to schedule the work. On the appointed day the arrived at 9:00 and were done before 10:00. "We hired Stearns to do a septic inspection on a house we wanted to buy because we knew the last buyer had walked away due to septic system issues and we wanted a professional inspector. We were referred to Stearns by a local general contractor because of their professionalism and capabilities. The sellers had their own inspection done and shared that report with us but it was nothing more than a couple pictures with no real explanation and then an estimate for $2400 worth of repairs. The Stearns team did an awesome job, the report we got from them was incredibly well put together, thorough and professional. They determined that the system was not properly connected at the foundation wall, the tank had a hole and was leaking, and the leach field was dry and failing because all the liquids were draining out of the bottom of the tank, into the ground 120’ from the dug well. Their recommendation was a complete system replacement and when I talked to septic designers I found out that a new septic for us could cost as much as $45,000 depending upon soil conditions. We are very thankful to have hired Stearns to protect us from purchasing a home with that type of safety hazard and financial liability, we are looking forward to a continued relationship with Stearns in the future!"
