"We adopted two kittens in November and then adopted a senior cat in December. We were told everything was okay to introduce them. Turns out the senior had calico virus and got the kittens sick. $500 later they’re both okay but we spent $300 on the kittens to include getting them fixed, however we will never be going back to them again. On top of the fact that when we were told to bring them in for their shots it was just some unlicensed girl doing it in their crowded trailer. PS Liz, if you’re reading this, do better"

"Every time I’ve tried to reach out about adopting a cat. The response is always so rude and short you don’t have to go into extreme detail, but it looks really unprofessional all the other bad reviews. I’m sure are true they seem like they don’t care about animals they won’t let you adopt unless you’re 21 or older, but will give you sick animals and kittens that are way too young to be given away yet."

"They knowingly gave me a sick cat without telling me. It was not even house trained. It got my kitty I already have at home sick. Going to see the vet ASAP. . Do not adopt from this place. There's better options."

"Don't recommend adopting from Another Chance Animal Resue We adopted a teeny tiny kitten from them, that seemed too little and that we were not expecting to be ready to come home yet (a litter mate's owner confirmed for me that her vet said they were too little) It all seemed rushed and like they wanted the money and to deny responsibility for an unhealthy animal. They called me out of the blue on a Wednesday and asked me to pick him up that Saturday (June 26th), which was two weeks earlier than expected. I didn't question it at the time because I was so excited about him coming home. When I picked him up, they told me he "might" be sick and to call if anything happens. He started acting sick Monday so I called them first thing Tuesday morning. They didn't seem super concerned and didn't have me bring him in until that night. Tuesday afternoon he was still climbing up the couch and everything. Wednesday morning they called and told me he didn't make it. I asked about their "two week guarantee" and she said "oh no, not for you. You didn't do enough and now a kitten is dead. They go downhill fast and we didn't have the vet look, but in our opinion he was malnourished and you are responsible. He couldn't even stand when you brought him." That isn't true, he was climbing our couch and baby gates just fine. (Note the vet has since confirmed for me that he passed from lung problems and that I did nothing wrong) I was too distraught to argue at the time. And I don't care about the money. But I feel like they set me up to fail because they were in over their heads and now want to blame me and make me feel terrible so they don't have to admit any fault/give a refund. We would have gladly taken him to the emergency vet if we knew they were not going to have him seen, but they had told me to go through them if he got sick because they had fast access to the vet. Today, they just needed our money and didn't care if what they said broke me or not. They made a post saying vet bills were excessive last month and they need help/donations. That post, along with the other red flags noted above, makes me think this was all a setup. I posted this story on a local town page and 20-30 others came forward with horror stories. I love my cats SO FREAKING MUCH. I would never neglect them. When my babies have been sick in the past, no expense spared, we get them taken care of. Another Chance gave me a sick kitten, denied responsibility, took away my opportunity to bring him into the emergency vet, and blamed me for his death. As an animal lover, I understand rescues don't always make it, but accusing me of killing my kitten was absolutely vile and unforgivable."

"We adopted "Philip" which is now named Chomusuke or Chuh for short. Chuh had chronic FHV while in the shelter, which was not helping him. He crawled up my back and laid on my shoulder, so I knew he had to come home with me. Chuh will have some medical appointments but will be better soon. He is already making improvements. He is so cuddly, and he lets us brush him, and give him medicine (well, most of the time). The staff at the shelter was very friendly and kind and informed on many of the cats personalities, quirks and medical problems. They made sure I had all of Chuh's paperwork before I left. They were very concerned about our missing cat and to this date he is still missing. It is very sad. Chuh will make a good brother to him. I know it is hard to run a shelter on hopeful finances and noticed their website domain is in pending. I hope they can pull it together. I would recommend this place to others."
