"Don't. This is a man who is utterly inept with technology that has been part of professional life in this country for at least a decade and he's not old enough to really have a valid excuse. He would get up and walk over to his landline phone to stop the ringer at least twice during a session. Sometimes he would even answer his cell phone while I was speaking. When I called him out on it, he claimed 'oh that was an emergency, won't happen again'. When I pick up the phone during an important real life conversation, I say it's an emergency as I'm doing so, to reassure who I am with in real life. We tried to do a session online once and sometime at the beginning he told me his laptop battery might run out during it. I asked where his charger was and he said it was buried and he couldn't get to it. There are no words. Aside from his 'phoning it in', his notions of what was helpful or relevant were incredibly basic and lacking in any real insight. I could tell he was trying to be profound, but it mostly came out like nonsense or made it seem like he hadn't really been listening enough. He's ultimately not a bad guy, just quite incompetent, which, -newsflash! - matters a LOT in a therapeutic setting.. I'd worry about hurting his feelings, but I doubt he'll be able to find this."
