"Honestly shocked to see her reviews so high. I went to Dr. Meade to re-establish care after my OBGYN retired and to get assistance in getting an fertility assessment. In the 15 minutes she spent with me she didn't try to get to know me or my health -- she asked no questions related to my family history, healthy living practices, or whether I felt safe with my partner (which are all pretty standard questions in an annual appointment). In our discussions, it was very clear that she is fat-phobic -- all questions to me were about my weight. She told me that stress in my life was my fault, that I was the only person who was going to be able to fix my stress. She stated that walking or yoga as exercise wasn't going do me any good if I wasn't also going eat healthy without asking me anything about my excercise or eating habits (her nurse did). She clearly believes overweight people don't eat vegetables and are just lardons on the couch. She was brusque, bordering on rude but don't worry, she had a smile on her face the entire time. For those of you who have pelvic trauma: I would say she works very quickly (which is nice) but does minimal work to prepare you mentally. It's very wham bam thank you ma'am. For those of you looking for a resource for your next steps related to fertility: she gave me the name of an expert who she said she has worked with and likes. However, when I reached out to that doctor it turns out that to be accepted into the practice you have to have had several tests done so while she has a name she hasn't done enough research to know whether she needs to have tests performed or the requirements of the practice she's referring you to."
