Le Spa of Barrington

"I have mixed feelings about my experience. I have never worked with this place before, so it was completely new to me. For my personal perspective and experience, these are some bullet points of my thoughts: Pros: my back is not in pain anymore. Cons: The rooms are not private; there are two massage beds within the same area, which are separated by curtains. When the rocks were used during my massage, they were quite hot, borderline too hot. All materials needed to provide the massage were not within the professional's working area. The massage therapist left twice, during the session, in order to get additional materials when it was needed. The massage therapist was not dressed professionally and was wearing sneakers during the experience, which was quite noisy every time he walked around the room or left. I'm not sure if the phone belonged to the massage therapist that was working with me, but the phone was not on silent and chirped several times during my massage. At one point, the male massage therapist spoke loudly across the spa to a fellow co-worker! Talk about distracting during your session when the goal is for you to relax. Additionally, between the walls being so thin and not reaching from floor to ceiling, you can hear everything going on next door at the pediatric office (kids yelling, appointments being scheduled, things being moved or dropped) and the cars outside the building when they are being locked! It was very difficult to relax my mind and let thoughts flow in and out, considering the noise and frequent disruptions. Despite the relief in my back pain, this is not a place I would visit again."

"Just left a few minutes ago and i do not recommend whatsoever. Me and my boyfriend booked deep tissue massages and they were definitely not deep tissue. My massage was ok and my boyfriend says his was horrible. For starters, the masseuses walked in and the guy came to me meanwhile the girl went up to my boyfriend. What i feel like is common sense, the man should have went up to my boyfriend, and the girl go up to me. My boyfriend asked nicely to switch and immediately the male masseuse made a face. My bf says he received forceful elbow jabbing for most of the massage. At one point his masseuse had used his whole body weight and just pushed for a while in one spot of my bfs neck, which he said was just super painful and uncomfortable. My lady didn’t seem to use her elbow once, which i was fine with. I told my lady multiple times some spots were ticklish and she just ignored me and kept going. The young girl at the front desk, i can say, was super friendly and sweet. Also there was a very low bit of music, it was mostly silent and kind of awkward. Overall, don’t go here. You can find much better massages elsewhere for much less!"

"I have been to Le Spa many, many times. I’ve only ever had wonderful massages here. I find other places promote deep tissue and it’s never quite deep tissue enough for me. But this place does thorough, real deep tissue. I always feel so much better when leaving. Some other great things about Le Spa to consider for massages: - Their online booking is super easy to use - They have fantastic hours, I love going after work, most other places are closed by then. - They are super prompt, I if i did ever have to wait it was for a minute or two while they were sanitizing my room (which I’m absolutely okay with, cleanliness gets a check too!) - Friendly staff The atmosphere is simple, which i like, it’s a perfect spot to be in and out to help your body feel better. All massage therapists here have been great. But extra shout out to massage therapist, Kevin. He has given me the best massages, he deserves the recognition. His technique, pressure, and ability to understand where my body needs extra help is a gift. If you get paired with kevin consider your self extra lucky!"

"Unprofessional is an understatement. If I could give 0 stars I would. I talked to a women on the phone to schedule and pay in advance. When I arrived, the workers had no clue what was happening. My boyfriend and I were just brought in the room. When the worker came in, we were then yelled at for using the “wrong blanket”, after giving absolutely no instruction. During the massage, my boyfriends worker even walked out for a good 10 minutes to talk to a client since there was only 2 workers there. We paid for deep tissue, the person massaging my boyfriend did everything but that. There was about 4 times he said he was about to tell her he was all set. I have had multiple massages and nothing even remotely the same happened while I was receiving one from here. Then to top off the experience when I was leaving they told my boyfriend and I we had to pay, which I had already done over the phone. The male worker made me call his boss to confirm. She said I was all set and hung up. As we were walking out, we were chased out DEMANDING a tip. Mind you me and my boyfriend were considering asking for a refund because of how terrible the overall experience was. The male worker WOULD NOT let us leave unless we gave a tip, which was most definitely not deserved. To anyone considering going here, please don’t, save your time and money. **response to owner** Thank you for your prompt response and sincere apology regarding the unpleasant experience my boyfriend and I had with your staff. I appreciate your willingness to take full responsibility for the situation and apologize for the inconvenience caused. I understand that your appointment system was experiencing technical difficulties, resulting in the inability to properly identify my information. This led to errors in the appointment time and payment method. However, there is a specific incident that occurred during my visit that I would like to bring to your attention. It is regarding the behavior of one of your male workers, which I found highly unacceptable. He demanded a tip from us and even went to the extent of following us out to our vehicle, raising his voice, and not allowing us to leave until we gave him cash. I believe such behavior is unprofessional and completely inappropriate. Today was my boyfriend’s birthday, I had visited your establishment with high hopes for a relaxing time with him on his special day. Despite all of the other challenges faced during my visit, I genuinely value your commitment to resolving the situation and your desire to continue serving me as a customer. I hope that the proper steps will be taken to address the underlying issues, as I believe it will contribute to an improved customer experience. "There were 7 of us looking for a last minute spa day. They easily accommodated us and were very friendly. The spa was very calming, smelled nice and has soothing music and they offered us some hot tea. There weren't private rooms but instead a dark room with curtains. Still felt very private. Between the 7 of us we had a stone massage, reflexology, deep tissue and a facial. Everyone came out relaxed and super zen. Great spa would recommend to anyone."
