"The staff at this location are unmatched, exceptionally kind and always going above and beyond! From the admin to the providers, I was always treated warmly and spoken to respectfully. Follow ups to phone calls and portal messages were always prompt and thorough. I highly recommend Dr. Swandal. As a nervous first time mom, she was patient, understanding, and reassuring. My son was comfortable around her as a one week old and beyond. Her bedside manner is phenomenal, you can tell she is truly passionate about her profession."

"I had to reject Ashley the administrator giving me my second dose of the vaccine because of her own tension/energy. She gave me worse treatment after i declined by hunting me down. I went somewhere else. My primary care giver and I haven't established communication (feeling like) since 2017. Provided referrals as asked, so that's helpful. Otherwise, mediocre care."

"Intermed pediatrics has been by far the worst healthcare experience I've ever had. Incredibly long wait times on the phone for any and every call-including over an hour on hold on a call back from the office (more than once!). I've had appointments cancelled last minute by the provider, appointments I previously cancelled, not actually cancelled. I've had appointment cards and reminders from them with the wrong address- Nothing like taking your four year old kicking and screaming to a shot appointment in South Portland, only to be told upon arrival that whoops, our mistake, the appt was actually in Yarmouth and will now have to be rescheduled (appt card AND text reminder from Intermed both stated South Portland). But what really takes the cake is how this practice handled my 12 month old's elevated blood lead level. To my complete dismay his blood level was high enough to necessitate outreach from the CDC and a complete home and property inspection. The CDC nurse I spoke with for over an hour told me directly that my son was considered "lead poisoned". I was then told by Intermed nurses and Dr. Bausman that I shouldn't worry and that they would see us again in 3 months for a redraw. I asked what I should do for my son in the meantime and Dr. Bausman offered NOTHING. On top of this, he refused to give us a referral to a specialist in the area who would offer a wealth of information, resources and actions we could take in the meantime in order to best mitigate the damage to my sons health and development. When I pushed back on this, stating that I was not comfortable with his "treatment plan" of doing absolutely nothing for the next three months and hope that my poisoned baby didn't get any sicker I was treated as though I were unreasonable and obviously had been written off as a problem patient. The nurses were downright rude-something I had never experienced before-one even hung up on me after I'd been on hold for almost an hour bc she clearly just did not want to discuss this with me (I know what type of behavior justifies a hang-up, and this simply was not it) I understand that the entire healthcare system is strained right now, everyone one is doing the best they can, etc. I understand this (I work in healthcare) I make an effort to be flexible and reasonable, but every single interaction that I've had with Intermed Pediatrics has been time-consuming and miserable. Now I have a lead-poisoned baby and no treatment or resolution in sight. Just imagine that for a minute. No one should have to go through this with their child. It's scary. It's exhausting. This practice does not listen to it's patients. Their admin is sloppy and error riddled. They respond to any push-back (patient advocacy) negatively and create a hostile environment that then permeates all further communication. I no longer feel comfortable taking my other two children to this practice."

"This practice is phenomenal! Their whole team is knowledgeable, helpful, patient and kind. It takes a whole village and they certainly offer such great support. The nurses Natasha and Jenn have been incredible. They are not just offering medical advice, but also A to Z advice about parenting in general. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!"
