"had an okay experience a few years ago when making a claim, but recently called just to inquire about whether an oil tank leak was covered. The man on the phone wouldn't give me an answer and simply told me to submit a claim. Low and behold it was denied(which is fine) but now I learn my premium is being increased by a boat load because of two claims in 3 years. My initial call was just for information, but no mention that I could be penalized for submitting a claim, not even a suggestion to call my broker either to discuss. Now I see/hear all these other horror stories about getting policies cancelled for too many claims and it has me terrified to make a legitimate claim if one comes up."
