"Room was the only good thing. If you plan to stay weekly just warning, don't make any complaints even if people are loud up until midnight because they'll just kick you out instead of resolving anything. She also (owner) apparently owns the Mt. Royal Motel and Beach Motel and Suites which I highly recommend you find somewhere better then any of these. I only write bad reviews when a place is actually horrible. And all 3 match."

"I am currently staying here for the week. I was a little hesitant to book because of the poor reviews that I found online. As someone who assists in managing close to 100 airbnbs I am very picky when I book a vacation. But I had stayed here once about 10 years ago and thought I would give it try. I have not been disappointed. The morning of check in I received a phone call around 11am offering me early check in as my room was ready early. Any worries I had quickly diminished upon arrival. I have a standard room with 2 double beds. The rooms are dated, however this is pretty standard in the area. The beds are comfortable and my room is very clean. Some complaints I had read in reviews stated that the rooms were dirty. There is some staining to the microwave and the caulking in the shower. But they are stained, not dirty. Turn down service is not offered, but anything I have needed has been readily available and honestly I prefer to just reach out if I need something. The woman who runs the front desk lives on site and is only a text message away. This is explained at check in. Even in a standard room I have a gorgeous view of the ocean. The pool and property are clean and welcoming. I just wanted to write this review for anyone who is on the fence about booking. You can't beat the location for the price. Also the air conditioners work great!"

"Disappointed is an undstatement. NOT AS ADVERTISED! The rooms in the pictures are not what you get! Generally we are not harsh and tend to go with the flow but this was a bit much. Upon first arrival it takes a bit of searching to find the office. It's not marked well nor obvious where it is. Once we arrived in our room we were a bit taken back. From the pictures online we expected a modern, clean and well lit room. Our room was none of these. It was very dated and dark. I immediately noticed the light over our table was misaligned and tilting with a missing bulb. The chandler, dressers, window sills and the majority of the the flat surfaces had an excessive amount of dust. To the point you wondered if it's been hit all season. The microwave is very dated, the hinges have visible rust and corrosion on them. The inside still had food particles stuck on it and where the door shut it has a rust smere that looks like spaghetti sauce. One of the two bathroom lights did not work and our shower has a damaged floor with adhesive of some sort stuck all over it. It appears duct tape was used to prevent leaking. The shower floor was very poorly cleaned and the walls had visible soap scum on them. The bathroom sink had sand in it from the previous guest and the mirror had tooth paste spatter. The kitchenette was clean but poorly stocked and again very dated. I went to make a cup of coffee and found the pot had burnt coffee still inside. I did call the office and discussed my findings. The office manager was not on site but offered to swap rooms once she returned. As we did not know when that would be we asked if she could have it cleaned for us the next day. We were told no problem but the room was never touched. While the parking is supposed to be assigned we left for breakfast to come back to our spot taken. We informed the office and they just had us park in an alternative spot. Not the end of the world but frustrating. As per the pool I don't know who is responsible for the upkeep but it remand cloudy and cold our entire stay. It's advertised as heated but temps below the outside air temp are not what I would call heated. It hovered between 68 and 70 for the weekend. Unfortunately in good conscious I would not recommend this establishment. We had hoped there would be something to turn it around but remain disappointed. It does have beach front access and a cute bar next door that has music. Although you have to be careful on the entrance as it has a nail hanging out of the handrail and the boards are in need of sanding."

"It's a little dated but clean. The staff worked hard. We ended up having to switch rooms due to a maintenance concern (water leaking thru the sliding glass door of our reserved room - it was very rainy), which was annoying, but, it was nice that the girl at the front desk cared about our comfort enough to move our reservation. (She moved us, we didn't ask to be moved.) The maintenance team fixed the issue, and we were able to move into our originally reserved room the next day. Convenient location. Most parking would be a little tight if you drive a big vehicle."

"Great location! Easy beach access and a short walk to shopping and restaurants. There is a pool but it was a bit cloudy when we were there after the heavy rains so we opted for the beautiful beach. We were super nervous about the rooms after reading reviews but were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean but definitely in need of updating. The cook top was not something I would use in the condition it was in but there is a nice little grilling area outdoors. The new owners seem to be doing updates and the addition of air conditioning in the rooms was great. The staff were polite and helpful. We have no complaints at all about the stay and are looking forward to returning in the future. Thanks for a great stay Carolina staff we appreciate your hard work to make our stay a great one!
