"We had a really great 4-night stay at the Lady Mary Inn in mid June. The house was beautiful and unique- but still had modern enough touches to make it very comfortable. The care and thoughtfulness that has gone into understanding and keeping the history of the property was really nice. We had the opportunity to have the entire house for our family/ extended family since we were in town for a wedding at the Red Barn at Outlook Farms and even used the home for the bridal party on the day of the wedding. It was a great location for that and for also exploring the area (Portsmouth, Wells, etc.). Ryan was also a fantastic host and made us feel so at home- we were warmly welcomed and the breakfast he prepared each day was fantastic (eggs, fresh fruit, baked French toast, & quiche). We also enjoyed relaxing in the common/ sitting rooms and people worked on puzzles in the evenings or during down time. Overall the Inn had everything we needed and served as a great backdrop for us, giving some historical luxury to a fun wedding weekend."

"A beautiful Inn. If you love beautiful, old Victorian houses…then this is the place to be. Ryan is the perfect innkeeper and host. Attention to detail. He’s there to greet you when you arrive and fills you in on the house and the rooms. Ryan is chef trained and presents a beautiful breakfast to his guests. The room (Anemone) was beautifully appointed as were all the common areas of the house. There are books to read and puzzles to work on…or just hang out on one of the beautiful porches. What a great weekend!"

"Step back in time, beginning with a warm welcome from Ryan and maybe Vivien & Clark! I have stayed here multiple times and the Lady Mary Inn feels like home. The restoration is breath taking and the history fascinating. I’ve enjoyed visiting on the veranda as well as cozied-up in one of the living rooms with a book. Ryan’s cooking is second to none. "Our stay at The Lady Mary Inn is going to be the gold star by which we judge all our future B&B stays (sorry future hosts!). What a memorable vacation in such a historic setting... We were welcomed at the mansion by our host Ryan with a glass of homemade sangria. He gave us a tour, told us about all the history of the house, and invited us to explore at our leisure. He had a wealth of restaurant recommendations and insider knowledge of the best things to see and do in the area of which we took full advantage -- visiting restaurants, going for walks, and even blueberry picking! Our days at the Inn started with an incredible farm to table breakfast (including duck eggs, tomatoes, and peaches from his farm) set out in the formal dining room or the sunny, covered back porch. We spent days out exploring the area and yet we were happy to return to our spacious yet cozy room for a soak in the oversize tub and stretching out on the king bed. Throughout the house Ryan features local artists and artisans - even the soap in the rooms is locally produced which is a nice touch. Ryan was an amazingly welcoming host who made it feel like we were visiting an old friend. He was knowledgeable and easy to chat with and we loved hearing about all his plans for the historic estate. The community and the Hurd Manor are lucky to have a passionate and creative person caring for the estate's legacy. We're looking forward to visiting again next time we're in the area!"
