"My husband and I had been trying to conceive since last August. I had a biochemical pregnancy in late October and had not conceived since. About 5-6 months into trying, I let my OBGYN know, since I had recently turned 35. I had bloodwork done and my FSH and AMH levels were so bad that I was immediately referred from my OBGYN to Boston IVF due to "not having much time left". Months later, I was more or less told by my reproductive endocrinologist that I had Premature Ovarian Insufficiency and was in perimenopause. For women with high FSH and low AMH, it seemed obvious that functional nutrition and lifestyle changes were yielding far more consistent results than anything that at RE could do for me. The issue is just so understudied, and the power of these lifestyle changes is so undervalued by Western Medicine. I learned about what unknown allergies could do to cause inflammation to my system, etc. I sought out a Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor who specialized in fertility, simply Googling what I was looking for and was able to speak with Dr. Katherine that same day. I went through Dr. Katherine's full program, through which I did acupuncture once a week, was prescribed various vitamins and supplements, took Chinese herbs prepared for exactly where I was in my cycle, and followed a nutrition/ lifestyle regimen that Dr. Katherine wrote up for me. Removing inflammation from my body felt pretty darn good. I felt more focused and I naturally lost water weight and bloating, without even trying to cut out calories (I was eating all the time). After working with Dr. Katherine for a few cycles, I noticed that my estrogen levels appeared to be rising. The cycle before I was supposed to do a round of HRT and IUI through Boston IVF, I conceived naturally. I am currently almost 22 weeks pregnant. I'm sending positive vibes for women in my position.
