"I purchased a Trex Duel Sport 3 back in April. I was convinced to buy the 2 year service plan. I needed a chain replaced last week….I also suggested a cassette replacement because this was the second chain I went through and had some skipping going on. Employee said cassette was fine. Replaced the chain and went on a test ride right there. sure enough skipping again, with new chain. I came right back and employee was reluctant to replace the cassette. He went out with me on a short ride and witnessed the skipping. Back in the shop he checked on cassette replacement…they had no cassettes in the shop. Had to order one….discovers a backlog in supply chain… not available for over 30 days! Really! So much for service plan! Very poor planning when a bike repair shop does not have parts on hand for the bikes they sell and a service plan they tout as so great. Service plan seems dictated by corporate insistence on having one supplier! I took the bike to local Kennebunk Bike Shop, Mainly Bikes….Chris got online and found a cassette that arrived 3 days later. Much better than having an unusual bike for over a month. I posted this review about four days ago, I’d like to update it with a positive outcome. Gorham bike and ski does pay attention to reviews and they pay attention to customer service with a big plus. Management took a look at this review and as a team, they put their heads together to come up with a resolution. They offered to cover the cost of the cassette that I needed for the bike. They also informed me that in the future they will work with my repairs with efforts to find alternate parts. I must say that Cory was a gentleman in handling this entire ordeal. John, who is part of district management was also involved and I have the highest regards for him. The bottom line is that I am a happy customer and will continue to support Gorham bike and ski. Thank you to Cory and thank you to John."
