Boneyard Dog Park

"I will NEVER return to this dog park based on a horrible experience from other dog owners. My first time at this dog park, I brought my 6-month-old golden retriever. There were approximately 5-7 other dogs already in the large-dog area. As per usual, when we enter dog parks, all of the other dogs are intrigued by the newcomer. My dog is very submissive, so upon all these dogs coming to see him, he always instantly lays on his back or tries to run away. When we first got there, he tried to do both. When he started to run away, many of the dogs chased him, and because there were so many chasing him, my dog kept falling over and squealing. One of the owners started chastising me for bringing a female dog "in heat" to the dog park. Other owners chimed in, wondering why I brought my dog when she was in heat. I quickly shut them down by exclaiming that my dog was male. Annoying owners aside, there was one dog in particular who just did not like my dog. It was clear that this wasn't playful wrestling but instead aggressive behavior. After a while of aggressive harassment, that dog's owner grabbed his dog by the collar and dragged him off. But his dog slipped out of his collar and ran back and grabbed onto my dog's neck and thrash him about. I ran over to his dog and shoved him off and picked my dog up. At this point, another owner came up to me and said it would be best if I left. MY dog was being attacked, but this other owner asked ME to leave? I was fed up and decided to turn around and just leave anyways. Then, the aggressive dog's owner turned and yelled to me, "They are just animals, you have to let them do what they want to do, I don't understand why you have to have such an attitude." Never going back. Irresponsible people are always the ones to ruin dog parks."

"It is meh. Bunch of aggressive dogs with their stupid owners. You would be lucky to find good dogs for your dogs to play with. Out of town and unregistered dogs come to this place with no accountability. Unnecessary money spent on the pergola last year too."

"Entrance is just before the transfer station. Very large area divided for bigger dogs and small breeds. Mostly gravel. Benches, some shaded. Water faucets in back corner to fill provided water dishes, poop bag and trash stations. No real shade so it gets hot in the sun. Owners have been very friendly to new visitors, dogs love playing and socializing."

"Great park with great dogs and people. I love taking my dog there to run around and play. It is very well maintained, thank you to all who support it!"
