Reviews
"This is a great little beach! I just discovered it in the summer of 2023, but went back many times because of the atmosphere. I've found it not to be overly crowded, even on the busiest of days. This is a great beach to walk, relax, read a book, swim, just float in the waves, etc. The other patrons tend to be low-key, and respectful of those around them. In the many times I've gone, I only once had the annoyance of smoking to deal with. There is a large building containing bathrooms (compost toilets), showers (bring quarters or bills for the change machine), and changing stalls. There are also outside rinsing stations. In the summer season, there is food service of burgers and the like, and Del's lemonade. (I'd not ordered food from there, so I don't have any insight into that.) There was also a necessities kiosk that had things like coverup gear, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. (I also did not purchase anything there, so I can't speak to the pricing or specific item selection.) This is a little gem of a beach!"
"Love the beautiful beaches. Great little eateries. Most awesome hidden beaches by the dock."
"Favorite beach in RI that my wife and I visit a few times every summer. Coin showers, compost toilets, dressing area. Beautiful view of Atlantic. Water is very clean and clear. Sand is fine and soft. Parking is good if you come before 11am on weekends otherwise you will have to wait outside in line for about 20mins for lot to open up then they let a group in. Suggest the RI state parking pass if you frequent the RI state beaches. The pass pays for itself after 2 entries. Highly recommend this beach!"
"Parking charge was $14. Ample parking space. Good restroom and shower. Restroom closes at 6pm. But they have mobile ones after that. The beach was very good with nice waves. Lot of people were fishing in the rocks nearby. You could walk 20 minutes over the rocks into the sea. Was very nice. Very relaxing"
"This was my first time here. Read reviews and was convinced to try a new beach. This location however has one road in that backs up with heavy traffic. We waited for over an hour in line arriving at the front gate parking area for 10:20 to be informed by the police officer that wasn't so pleasant that we had to turn around because he just let the last car in, we explained we weren't from the area and didn't know of other beaches if he could give a quick recommendation because we drove from over an hour away and didn't know what was good in the area, but he wasn't helpful. We turned around and went the opposite way of what he said and we found Captain Jacks parking lot $20 for the day and were only .5mi walk from the beach. The beach is beautiful, great for anyone who loves waves and swimming. The bathhouses and bathroom area were clean. The pavilion area offer Del's Lemonade. If you enjoy fishing this is a great spot as there were many people walking down the rocks. The ocean floor had soft sand and was not filled with shells or rocks, bit of seaweed but beautiful. Check times for hours of operations for bathhouses as they close. Definitely leave early for here to avoid the lot being full... like 8am for 8:30AM opening."
