"Don’t normally write reviews, but my god this place was quite the surprise. The level of detail and presentation is genuine Smithsonian level. The collection is incredible, and the exhibits are perfectly executed to be informative and enjoyable with some interactivity. We went with our two-year-old, I had a great time, we spent an hour and a half here after thinking it would just be a quick in and out. Bottom to top it was a grand slam, I really can’t recall the last time I was so pleasantly surprised. This really should be a museum that other museums model themselves after. Just created to perfection."

"Truly a GEM of a find; and in Bethel, Maine to boot!!! My friends and I were leisurely walking and stopped in front of the museum admiring the large (rock) displays. Soon after we were approached and so kindly greeted by a gentleman who urged as to visit the place. In a most modest manner he introduced himself as Dr. Larry Stifler, the co-founder of the museum. The three of us did not hesitate and it was a stupendous experience to learn of a multitude of gems, minerals, meteorites, and asteroids to name a few. Dr. Stifler and his knowledgeable staff were decidedly enthusiastic and passionate in sharing incredible discoveries and scientific findings. This is especially so of extra-terrestrial matter that have been found to contain amino acids and prebiotic compounds suggesting that they may be the harbingers of life on Earth and other planets. We physically held a piece of the Moon and of Mars. It was an incredible treat and meeting the man himself. Definitely a must in your bucket list!!"

Definitely a World Class collection and very interesting place to visit. The gift shop has some great jewelry and other items. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Don’t miss this one when in the area!"

"It's a small, but extraordinarily well done museum. The displays are informative and well laid out. The geology pieces they have displayed are stunning. The staff is possibly some of the friendliest museum staff I've ever met. Small gift store has a nice selection of goodies with an emphasis on gems mined in New England. Worth a visit."
