"I have been a long time customer of Express for over twenty years. I have made many purchases in this particular store many times and never had an issue until recently. On a very busy back to school day, on 8/19/23 I returned an item that together my husband and I had purchased using his debit card back on 7/21/23. I returned the item with the receipt in hand asking for a credit because I knew that I didn't have my husbands card with me. A male manager was called over to assist with the transaction and he stated that I needed my husbands card to get the store credit. Confused, I have never heard of such a thing because from my experience in retail you are giving the option of getting a credit in certain cases. He kept stating this untrue comment at least 4 times as if I couldn't hear. I don't know what reaction he was looking for, but I stayed calm as I not only started feeling uncomfortable but embarrassed. I called other Express stores just to be certain that I wasn't the one confused. He clearly didn't know his job. Or did he? I truly hope Express does a better job with training their managers, especially in sensitivity and diversity because all of this was happening in front of a lot of people and a new hire. The next customer may not be as nice and calm as myself."

"Had a good experience, nice selection of clothes. The service was good. They went out to the back to find a couple of sizes for me that weren't on the floor. I didn't feel like i was bothering them. I think the prices are a little high. A shirt shouldn't cost $70 bucks. And jeans $98? Outrageous. But still like the store."

"My grandson and I went into this store and was able to find everything he needed for a wedding that he will be attending. I had asked a Sales Associate for help finding a overcoat in my Grandson’s size and she seemed confused and bewildered. Without uttering a word, she led me to exactly where the overcoat we were looking for was but not a sound was uttered by her. When I thanked her and told her how great she was, she started laughing uncontrollably and another employee who was a much older man was close to us started laughing along with her. I, of course, felt compelled to ask what was so funny. I do, after all, love a good joke but after asking twice and receiving no response, I decided that the joke must have something to do with me and I simply walked away but not long after, while waiting for my Grandson to finish in the dressing room, the older man that had joined in with the other sales associate with the laughing, came directly over to where I was, asking if he could help me with anything. At this point I felt extremely uncomfortable and asked him if he was kidding. It wasn’t difficult to determine that I had somehow become a focus for him and his intent was to harass me and that’s exactly what he did. He stood directly in front of me and kept saying, “what, what did I do” over and over. Of course I understand that I don’t fit the profile of someone who would shop in a store such as this but my Grandson most certainly does. I have to admit that I am still confused by what happened in this store but I can absolutely guarantee that I will never go back. I genuinely felt afraid and extremely uneasy in that store and even my Grandson, who is at all times the most easy going person I know said that he got a very uneasy feeling shopping there. My very best guess is that these Sales Associates were under the influence of something because I can’t say that I have ever seen anything like it in all my years. Shopping should be a fun experience, not one that makes you feel uncomfortable and this store and it’s odd associates most certainly left you feeling uneasy."

"Great selection of clothes. Loved the style and was about to make multiple purchases. But the biggest turn off was the service. The boy and older lady were great. Girl in her 20-30s around 5’5” was terrible. She was rude and unprofessional. I asked about a pair of pants. And her response was short quip and useless. When I went to the boy. He was trying to be helpful. But the lady overheard me and told him that I already asked the question. However, since she was unable to properly and adequately provide the information I needed. I felt I was in a unsolvable predicament. If I was the manager I would have a chat with her and if there are no changes I would consider her termination. Sorry but it’s my honest truth."
