"My husband and I were recently married and I had the pleasure of getting my dress altered by Kim Vanyo, of Kim Vanyo Studios. Kim has been in the fashion industry for decades and it’s reflective in her style and demeanor. My dress was somewhat intricate in that it had 5-6 layers to it. After our initial fittings (which took ~1 hour, I’ve never seen pins move faster), we were onto the bustle. After initially choosing one style and Kim pinning it, I completely decided that I hated it and she was incredibly amenable to undoing the changes and figuring out another plan. One component of the alterations we ended up making was to literally cut about 36” of the train from the dress, to make the bustle smaller. This would normally be nerve-racking with any dress $1000+, but especially your wedding dress! However, due to her confidence I felt no hesitations in approving it….and for good reason- she executed it perfectly. Every alteration that was made to my dress was securely done and the bustle had no issues throughout the event. Kim was also incredibly accommodating in picking up my dress from Lily Saratoga, prior to our first session. If you’re in need of any wedding dress or other formal wear alterations, it would absolutely be my recommendation to contact Kim for her services."
