First Proof Press is a vibrant community-based studio located at 183 Main Street in Brattleboro, Vermont. Our studio is dedicated to the art of fine art printmaking, offering a wide range of mediums including Intaglio, Screen Printing, Relief Printing, Letterpress, Photopolymer, and Monotypes.

"First Proof Press is a place for you to have a creative experience unlike any other, using mediums and techniques that engage your senses and bring you into a physical process of making. As an instructor, Dan brings an encouraging demeanor and an extraordinary depth of experience to his workshops. I had a fantastic, immersive session at one of his screen printing classes in December 2020. If you're in Brattleboro, you really must check out the bright and welcoming space Dan has created, decorated with his exquisite drawings and etchings, and outfitted with historic printing presses and other antique machines that he refurbished and returned to their mechanical glory. The studio is a work of art in itself and you can't help but tap into your creative nature there. If you have the chance to take a class, I would highly recommend doing so.
