Tora Ramen

"The ramen was great. We tried the spicy miso, the black garlic tonkotsu and the yuzushoyu. All three were completely different. The spicy miso had butter which made it extra unami (even more so than the tonkotsu). I loved the yuzushoyu because I'd never had anything like it before...it was very light at citrus-y. The noodles really soaked up the yuzu flavor which made them so good. We also liked the takoyaki appetizer which had so much octopus, although the batter was a little undercooked. My main criticism is that they don't accept credit cards. For 3 people it was $80 and I prefer not to carry that much cash. There's also only a few tables and the bar tops are very tight to sit at / no where to put your coat."

It swirls around the bowl like liquid soul, giving the noodles a lively dance on your tongue. "Had the black garlic ramen and spicy miso ramen. Both excellent. The black garlic had a unique tasting broth that was not only garlicky but had some deep rich flavors going on that are hard to describe. Spicy miso ramen was everything and more, spicy and comforting and with lots of pork and noodles. The seared pork belly was very tender yet crispy. The kuro karaage was amazing. Looks burnt but really isn't, tastes delicious. Some of the best fried chicken around by any standard. Served with a dipping sauce and lemon that really complete it. Will be back here for more"

"Tiny little place in Chinatown and very charming. The choices of Ramen and appetizers were perfect, so it's not overwhelming to pick. I got the spicy original Ramen with some extra eggs, cause they are bomb. I got the crab stick tempura and lollipop fried shrimp with egg on top. I liked the shrimp a lot more, but both delicious and crunchy. The Ramen portion was perfect. I wasn't too full, but full enough. Broth was very creamy and tasty. It's apparently cooked for 2 days for the "umami flavor to release". I slurped up every last bit. Got a side of sake peach jelly. Not for everyone, but I'm always a fan. Acts as a dessert as well. It's a tiny spot, so service was fast and precise for lunchtime. Overall, would definitely eat here again and highly recommend!"

"We went to Chinatown, and the place is a bit tight, so if you have a rush, I won't come there because it is jam-packed. However, the vibes there were fantastic; I felt like I was in Japan; then we started with some appetizers, and I'm not lying were indescribable. There was a lot of flavour; after that, we ordered three different kinds of ramen, all of which were the best ramen I've ever tried. In conclusion, if you come to Boston and you're looking for the best ramen spot, this place is the one"
