"Taxes were completed in a timely manner, too timely. It revealed that I was paying way too much for the effort involved. I could have gone elsewhere for half the price. If my taxes can be completed by a professional in less than an hour, I can do them myself for far less than $400. Uploading documents was fairly painless and self-explanatory. My tax preparer did not ask many questions, which surprised me."

"I have always done my taxes with turbotax but last year my girlfriend had a discount code so I thought I would give H&R block a try. I filed with them and was blindsided by a price for filing with them that was 4X the amount I pay on turbotax. Their explanation was that because of the many different tax categories I had increased the price. Frustrated I did not feel like I had any other option but to pay the amount. I am writing this review now a year later after this years tax return because it confirmed that filing through turbotax was 1/4th the cost and I was able to get a better return with them. Will never go back."

"I have filed my taxes with h and r block for the past two years and have had amazing experiences. Today's visit left me feeling extremely uncomfortable. After my tax return fee being a 50% charge increase, I wanted to go home and research why. I did not trust the lady as she did not explain much during the process of doing my taxes. Instead she wanted to keep my tax documents, I said no, she rudely handed them back to me saying "here you go!" in a very nasty tone, got up and walked away. No follow up on how to pay over the phone, no have a good day, no goodbye, nothing. I left appalled and realized I will not be filing with them. DO NOT go here."

"I submitted my taxes to be done online and the person who was supposed to do them apparently quit and never passed them along to someone else to do. I only found this out two days before the deadline and it could have been a disaster, but without hesitation the employees at H&R Block said they would do them that day and had my taxes ready to be signed within a few hours. I was really impressed with how they handled the situation and thankful for the Middletown, RI offices outstanding customer service."
