"Market Baskets seem to be the same no matter where they're located; a good selection with good value for the money, very few employees that speak enough English to help when you need it, the ridiculous policy of spreading out product to fill holes of something out of stock and employees blocking off shelves with pallets looking annoyed when you try to get past them to get what you need. Those last few are why Market Basket doesn't get more than 3 stars from me. Looking for something for 20 minutes before finding an employee (more difficult than it should be, considering how many "head cashiers" are standing around doing nothing) who only tilts their head at you and says "Que?" is very disappointing. Never mind finally finding what you were looking for but having to squeeze behind a line of pallets to get to it... just to find out it's been replaced with another item that was spread out to make the shelves look full. That experience has me paying more to go to places like Shaw's and Stop & Shop. Their employees are hard to find sometimes, too, but at least I know I'll get the help I need from someone who can tell me exactly which aisle and bay, if not lead me there personally, and I won't need climbing gear to get to the shelf. Sometimes they even know the item I'm looking for is out of stock and make suggestions for an alternative. I still go to Market Basket now and then, but only when I'm just getting lunch or dinner for myself with no list. The '20 items or less' cashiers are my goal in those moments."

"All of the folks who work on the floor at this store are incredible and shopping there is generally a pleasant experience, but I think the management of this chain needs to do better by its employees. I feel uncomfortable with how strict the employee uniforms are and with having cashiers who are forced to stand for their whole shift. I don't see why either is necessary, especially making the cashiers stand. That just seems unnecessarily cruel and old fashioned. So, good prices and good people, but I think this chain needs to modernize its labor practices."

"We shopped on Christmas Eve and the place was a madhouse! Not a spot in the parking lot, not a shopping cart in sight bc they were all being used. But, I can honestly say that it was a pleasant experience! One of the best I’ve had in a long time in a grocery store. The staff was friendly and the line to check out, while long, moved along at a good clip. Everyone was in the Christmas spirit! Thanks, Market Basket!"

"I do not understand why people have it as a rating of a 4.4 stars when it should be a five star. we were always hesitant to go into the store because we know how crazy it can be well to be honest with you. We decide to go in early on a Saturday morning, and we fell in love with the store, and we will tell you why! The manager Mike is so awesome how awesome he is. I have had the pleasure of chatting with Mike. Even when he’s busy, he will make time to say hello to people. He has a very positive and upbeat attitude. His demeanor is fantastic. The guy is very super friendly. He also a very hard worker and I see that he’s always on the floor some kind of work in the store itself and he’s also joking and fooling around with all his workers which makes it a happy atmosphere. I don’t care. These people are Latinos that work there they are very sweet and loving people. also, I’ve met a lot of different Americans that work there is fantastic and I know why, because of Mike’s leadership. He always makes time to talk to his customers. Also, he’s always on the floor making sure that his crew is working very hard and I’m not talking about as a slave driver but he’s really making sure things get done I can see that he depends on his crew. Also, the store is very clean, there is one person that we do not like in there they’re all awesome! We also like the prices on the food. The employees are more than willing to go out of their way to help you out as a customer. Yes it’s a busy store. We can understand that we were at another store of the same chain Market Basket and everybody over there was stuck up well Mike is awesome and I’m saying it again because no one here in Ashland is rude or disrespectful the people to get the shopping carts are very friendly. Everyone is very friendly. She is the men and women that are on the floor. They’re willing to help you out. Plus you always see them working hard to keep the store. Nice and clean my wife and I moved in back in October and we used to go to Aldi market and they’re very nice to Milford where we used to live but when it comes right down to it all is good things about Market Basket well I can see that with the store. I can also see it with Mike as a manager, I learned from being in the army, the manager is the one that sets the tone for his crew while Mike is a fantastic manager again I’m expressing this so my wife and I only go shopping at Market Basket in Ashland and we don’t mind getting up early in the morning and if we need help we know Michael help us or one of his crewmembers so I’m gonna give this a five star and I can give it a 10 star I would. keep up the good work you guys do great over there. Also I like the way you show respect for the veterans to come into the store and you don’t see that a lot, but Market Basket Ashland shows that must respect for the veterans that go in there and I know I am a veteran and I love coming into the store with my wife and food shopping because I’m gonna get a great deal for the price. Keep up the good work!"
