"Disappointed if your looking for delicious West Indian cuisine. Half of the food that on the menu is unable to purchase, with that being said extremely long wait for food which was served unpresentable cold and a hair as a surprise in your meal. Service of staff is difficult was difficult to comprehend. Drinks were made incorrectly. Bartender doesn’t seem to be licensed. Atmosphere lights are extremely dim table were dirty, definitely doesn’t have the aroma of food nor a zen experience. Restroom dirty, smells like week old urinal instead of a dining restaurant. Definitely not a family oriented place for dinner catering. Felt like I was using a restroom from a subway station instead of a restaurant. Understaff filthy and definitely not a place where food should be prepared served or sold."

"I recently dined at Tropics Restaurant & Bar with a party of 12 people, and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Despite a promising start, the overall service, delays, and quality of the food and drinks were disappointing. Upon arrival at 1:30, we were greeted by a single female staff member who seemed to be handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously - taking orders, running the bar, and managing takeout orders. While it's commendable that she was managing these tasks alone, it ultimately impacted the efficiency of our dining experience. The first issue arose when part of our order arrived at 2:50, a substantial delay considering we had been waiting for over an hour. Even more frustrating was the fact that it took an additional hour for us to be informed that they did not have the dhal puri, a dish we had been eagerly anticipating. It begs the question of why it took so long for them to notify us about the unavailability of this item. When the food finally arrived, it was served promptly after the extended wait. However, the quality of the drinks was severely lacking. The drinks we ordered seemed watered down, leaving us with a disappointing and unsatisfying taste. This aspect of the dining experience certainly requires improvement. In terms of service, it was evident that additional staff members were needed to handle the workload. The lone female staff member seemed overwhelmed and unable to provide attentive service to all the guests. This resulted in delays, incorrect orders, and an overall lack of attention to detail. While Tropics Restaurant & Bar may have potential, it is clear that improvements are necessary to meet customer expectations. Enhancing the availability of menu items, ensuring drinks are properly prepared, and addressing staffing issues would greatly enhance the overall dining experience. With these improvements, Tropics Restaurant & Bar has the potential to become a more enjoyable and satisfying establishment for its patrons."

"First the driver give me the wrong food, come back with my correct food , just to have a dating tag for their food in my food. The tag is dated Monday I ordered my food on a Friday I wonder how old is this food?? I asked for a refund & the bartender told me in order to get one the driver will come get the food like it’s not garbage anyway. I DO NOT RECOMMEND"

"Bang Mary (fish) has no taste. Seems like it’s only seasoned with flour, salt and pepper. Basically got 1 whole plantain that cost couple cents for $8. Also ordered a drink that I never received. So yeah, the experience was not great. If I had to choose a restaurant I would not come because of the under 4 stars reviews but I came with a few people. Needless to say, I Would not return."

"So this was my first time here. I chose this spot randomly because they had calamari which i love and I was visiting the Schenectady area. Anyway, I treated my dad & his fiance to lunch. We came after the carnival. My dad & his fiance were the only ones who liked their food. I did not like mine or my drink. The service was OK. So, this rating is based on my food specifically and my time there. Other than that, I'd say its pretty chill and the scenery is nice."
