Neza Mexican Restaurant

"I'm so glad this opened close by. We drive by all the time, and it was always busy. Finally, I had the chance to try it, and it did not disappoint. The freshly made guacamole was delicious! I loved the tang of what I think was limes, and hint of jalapeños was perfect. I had a Tamarindo margarita, which was also very good. For my dish, I tried the sopes with a bit of the guacamole, which made them even better, we also tried the flautas, which were also very good! We'll definitely be back!"

"This Mexican restaurant took over an old breakfast staple in the area. I was so excited to finally eat here after being teased pre-opening as I drove by its location almost daily. To be fair, I've eaten here 2 more times since then before writing this review. The salsa that comes with the bottomless nachos tastes really good--fresh. Overall, I like the novel menu items over and above the usual fare of tacos, enchilada, etc. For instance, the Camarones Puercos for appetizer which uses chicharron for breading. I also tried the Gorditas, Carne Asada, and Fajita. Did I mention that their sides taste really good? I fancy the way they season the black beans. Then there's the unique and priced right margaritas. I have personally ordered the Guavarita and Tamarindo and look forward to trying the Hibiscus flavored kind (Jamaica). The place can get a little noisy when full and the lights are too bright for my taste. Otherwise, this is a decent dine-in, individual or family-friendly neighborhood Mexican spot, for which I am happy."

"I was not inspired. The calamari was put together as an afterthought as if the cook didn't know how to properly make this dish and it tasted like the oil that everything else had been fried in. The rest of the meal was so so. Service was good though."

"I found Neza through RI Food Fights' TacoMania and I have already been back a second time in less than 1 month. Thats how good this place is! The first time I tried the elotes, shrimp and octopus ceviche, carnitas and carne asada tacos paired with a michelada. It was all a 10/10, so good that I forgot to take a picture. They have a spicy salsa you can ask for if you are like me and enjoy heat. This time, we had mole enchiladas, veggie burrito and a california burrito. The photos speak for themselves! The portions are big, which I love. We again asked for spicy salsa and micheladas, just as great as the first time we ate here. The mole was sweet and savory, and they are so generous with the chicken. Its served with rice and beans on the side to compliment the dish. My friends said their burritos were amazing, even agreeing that this is the best Mexican restaurant they've been to. Service is very quick and everyone was so friendly. The decor is also very nice! If you haven't tried Neza, you are missing out on delicious and authentic Mexican food. I can't wait to come back!"

"Where do I start!? The atmosphere is pretty good, especially for a smaller restaraunt. We don’t normally pick a place to eat based on atmosphere. It’s about food and service, and Neza knocking both out of the park! The food was EXCELLENT! Chips and salsa and very good. The salsa is fresh and a little chunky, but real and not watered down. The chips are on the thicker side. The guac was fantastic. Great texture, not over-mashed, and again: fresh! Our entrees were really, really good and very large portions. We ordered a pitcher of their Diablo Margarita. It had just enough kick. Not intolerably hot but enough spice to leave you wanting more! To top things off, our server Stefania was THE BEST! Very attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and had a warm smile. Neza may dethrone our long time favorite on Rt. 2 if they keep this up!"
